Maxine Waters (D-CA) erupted outside the U.S. Supreme Court Friday afternoon following its decision to overturn the unconstitutional <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> decision.<\/p>\n<p>The 6-3 decision in<em>\u00a0Dobbs v.s. Jackson<\/em> Women\u2019s Health Organization on Friday followed the early May leak of a draft opinion indicating which way the justices would rule, The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/united-states-supreme-court-overturns-roe-v-wade-leaves-abortion-restrictions-to-states\">reported<\/a>. That leak prompted protesting across the nation, particularly in Washington, D.C. as well as dozens of attacks and vandalism of pro-life organizations, centers, and churches.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Samuel Alito wrote that\u00a0<em>Roe<\/em>\u00a0and a subsequent case,\u00a0<em>Planned Parenthood v. Casey<\/em>, which upheld\u00a0<em>Roe<\/em>, both must be overturned, and the right to allow, deny, or restrict the right to an abortion must reside with states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou see this crowd out here, you ain\u2019t seen nothing yet,\u201d the 83-year-old congresswoman said outside of the nation\u2019s highest court. \u201cWomen are going to control their bodies no matter how they try and stop us. The hell with the Supreme Court. We will defy them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWomen will be in control of their bodies. And if they think black women are intimidated or afraid, they got another [thing] coming. Black women will be out in droves,\u201d she continued. \u201cWe will be out by the thousands. Wade<\/em> to intensify violence against a wide range of targets,\u201d DHS said. \u201cWe expect violence could occur for weeks following the release, particularly as DVEs may be mobilized to respond to changes in state laws and ballot measures on abortion stemming from the decision.
