Wade<\/a><\/em> and effectively return abortion legislation to the states.<\/p>\n<p>The leaders of longtime American allies like France, the United Kingdom, and Canada all decried the American high court\u2019s decision in <em>Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Liberal Canadian Prime Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/justin-trudeau\">Justin Trudeau<\/a> called the decision \u201chorrific.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy heart goes out to the millions of American women who are now set to lose their legal right to an abortion. I can\u2019t imagine the fear and anger you are feeling right now,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/06\/24\/trudeau-roe-v-wade-response-00042316\">tweeted<\/a>. \u201cNo government, politician, or man should tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He told reporters that the decision was a \u201cdevastating setback.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the <em>Roe<\/em> decision, at least one Canadian official said that Americans would be welcome to come to Canada to get abortions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t see why we would not,\u201d Canadian Minister of Families head Karina Gould <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/abortion-tourism-goes-global-canadas-minister-of-families-says-americans-would-be-provided-abortions-following-roe-leak\">told<\/a> CBC News. \u201cIf they, people, come here and need access, certainly, you know, that\u2019s a service that would be provided.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Canada has no federal restrictions on abortions, and women can abort their unborn child at any stage of the pregnancy. Abortions in the country are also publicly funded.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>French Prime Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/emmanuel-macron\">Emmanuel Macron<\/a> said that the Supreme Court was undermining the \u201cliberties\u201d of women.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbortion is a fundamental right for all women. It must be protected. I wish to express my solidarity with the women whose liberties are being undermined by the Supreme Court of the United States,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/emmanuelmacron\/status\/1540393817609740288?s=21&#038;t=qhPOUWOt7cccgzdaBb5Wng\">tweeted<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In France, abortions for any reason <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/foreign\/macron-denounces-supreme-court-french-abortion-law\">are<\/a> only allowed up to 14 weeks of pregnancy. The law the Supreme Court upheld in <em>Dobbs<\/em> limited abortions after 15 weeks, while states like California and New York have even more liberal abortion laws than France.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/boris-johnson\">Boris Johnson<\/a>, prime minister of Britain, expressed a similar sentiment as Trudeau, calling the ruling a \u201cbig step backward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve always believed in a woman\u2019s right to choose, and I stick to that view,\u201d Johnson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/06\/24\/us\/world-leaders-react-to-roe-ruling.html\">said<\/a>, \u201cAnd that\u2019s why the U.K. has the laws that it does.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In England, Scotland, and Wales, women <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/health-19856314\">can<\/a> get abortions up to 24 weeks if two doctors agree that abortion would be better for the woman\u2019s mental and physical health than having the baby. After that, there are certain circumstance when abortions are allowed.<\/p>\n<p>Denmark\u2019s Prime Minister, Mette Frederickson, was particularly heartbroken by the overturning of <em>Roe.<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy heart weeps for the girls and women of the USA. A huge set back.The right to a free abortion is one of the most fundamental rights there is. We must never compromise the unrestricted right of women to decide over their own bodies and future,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/mettefrederiksen.dk\/\">stated<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In Denmark, abortion for any reason is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/01\/22\/upshot\/abortion-us-roe-global.html\">allowed<\/a> for up to 12 weeks.
