Wade and urged voters to turn out for the midterms during remarks to the nation Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the White House hours after the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 to overturn the\u00a0landmark decision that deemed abortion is <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/06\/09\/abortion-michigan-hotel\/\">protected<\/a> under the U.S. Constitution, Biden called the decision a \u201ctragic error.\u201d He called on Congress to act in restoring federal abortion protections and pointedly highlighted the upcoming midterm elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis fall, Roe is on the ballot,\u201d the president declared, issuing a call for voters to turn out and choose more pro-choice lawmakers.<\/p>\n<p>Biden noted that the Supreme Court\u2019s decision does not prevent a woman from crossing state lines to receive an abortion. He vowed to defend this \u201cbedrock right\u201d and also promised to<span id=\"subtitle154\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"154\" data-start=\"856425\" data-end=\"858615\"> \u201cprotect women\u2019s access<\/span> <span class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"155\" data-start=\"858615\" data-end=\"859575\">to medications.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/09\/joe-biden-mini-revolution-supreme-court-overturns-roe-v-wade\/\">(RELATED:\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/09\/joe-biden-mini-revolution-supreme-court-overturns-roe-v-wade\/\">Biden Warns Of A \u2018Mini Revolution\u2019 If SCOTUS Overturns Roe)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis decision is the culmination of a deliberate effort, over decades, to upset the balance of our law,\u201d Biden said. \u201cIt\u2019s a realization of an extreme ideology and a tragic error by the Supreme Court, in my view. The court has done what has never done before: expressly take away a constitutional right that is so fundamental to so many Americans that it had already been recognized.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe court\u2019s decision to do so will have real and immediate consequences. State laws banning abortion are automatically taking effect today, jeopardizing the health of millions of women, some without exceptions,\u201d the president added.<\/p>\n<p>Biden said that the ruling takes \u201cAmerica back 150 years\u201d and at one point referenced apparent <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/shionamc\/status\/1540370100813004800?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fears<\/a> that applications used to track women\u2019s periods will be used to track down those looking to get an abortion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut extremist governors and state legislatures \u2026 looking to block the mail or search the person\u2019s medicine cabinet or control a women\u2019s actions by tracking data on her apps she uses are wrong and extreme and out of touch,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The president also issued a call for protests to be peaceful. His push for peace followed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/15\/pro-abortion-arsonists-firebomb-pro-life-roe-v-wade\/\">reports<\/a> of attacks against pro-life offices and buildings, and a statement appearing to be from the group \u201cJane\u2019s Revenge,\u201d which <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/15\/abortion-activists-janes-revenge-pro-life-roe-v-wade\/\">called<\/a> for violence until pro-life groups shuttered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI call on everyone, no matter how deeply they care about this decision to keep all protests peaceful, peaceful, peaceful, peaceful,\u201d Biden said. \u201cNo intimidation. Violence is never acceptable. Threats and intimidation are not speech.
