Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/em>, but a large part of the credit for the U.S. Supreme Court finally overruling <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> goes to former President Donald Trump for nominating solid justices who could see an \u201cegregiously wrong\u201d decision as something that desperately needed to be undone.<\/p>\n<p>Without Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett who, despite facing an intense intimidation campaign from openly violent leftists, stood behind the judicial belief that there is no constitutional right to abortion, Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas wouldn\u2019t have had the backup they needed to overturn 50 years of an \u201cexceptionally weak\u201d ruling that had \u201cdamaging consequences\u201d on Americans for years.<\/p>\n<p>They certainly wouldn\u2019t have received much help from Chief Justice John Roberts, George W. Bush\u2019s pick for the court. <\/p>\n<p>As a matter of fact, even though he didn\u2019t side with the dissent, Roberts refused to join the court\u2019s majority opinion. In return, he was pummeled by Alito for doing \u201cexactly what it criticizes\u00a0<em>Roe\u00a0<\/em>for doing: pulling \u2018out of thin air\u2019 a test that \u2018[n]o party or\u00a0<em>amicus\u00a0<\/em>asked the Court to adopt.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe concurrence would \u2018leave for another day whether to reject any right to an abortion at all,\u2019 and would hold only that if the Constitution protects any such right, the right ends once women have had \u2018a reasonable opportunity\u2019 to obtain an abortion,\u201d Alito wrote. \u201cThe concurrence does not specify what period of time is sufficient to provide such an opportunity, but it would hold that 15 weeks, the period allowed under Mississippi\u2019s law, is enough\u2014at least \u201cabsent rare circumstances. There are serious problems with this approach, and it is revealing that nothing like it was recommended by either party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Not even Alito was<a href=\"https:\/\/mobile.twitter.com\/seanmdav\/status\/1540343688961970176\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Bush\u2019s top choice<\/a> for the court. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"519\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Screen-Shot-2022-06-24-at-11.13.52-AM-1024x519-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-274598\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Screen-Shot-2022-06-24-at-11.13.52-AM-1024x519-1.png 1024w, https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Screen-Shot-2022-06-24-at-11.13.52-AM-300x152.png 300w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Screen-Shot-2022-06-24-at-11.13.52-AM-768x389-1.png 768w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Screen-Shot-2022-06-24-at-11.13.52-AM.png 1196w\"><\/figure>\n<p>Leftists understood the threat that Trump\u2019s nomination power posed to their abortion regime. After all, he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chrislhayes\/status\/1016529558005276677?s=20&#038;t=-_LR8UzbR09C563bXUYX9A\">predicted <\/a>that if he added another two or three justices to the court, Roe would be overturned \u201cautomatically.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd that will happen automatically, in my opinion, because I am putting pro-life justices on the court,\u201d he said during a 2016 debate. <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why the left tried to stonewall, bully, and tarnish Trump\u2019s picks for the highest court in the land. <\/p>\n<p>Their <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2017\/03\/15\/chuck-schumers-attacks-on-neil-gorsuch-are-un-american\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">opposition campaign began<\/a> with Gorsuch. It quickly escalated when Democrats, along with the corrupt corporate media, launched a weeks-long smear campaign against Kavanaugh. By the time Barrett came along, the leftists in Congress and the media had their vilification tactics down pat. <\/p>\n<p>At the end of Trump\u2019s judicial saga, leftists had waged a full-blown war on the Supreme Court. When things didn\u2019t go their way, they called for court-packing. By the time the <em>Dobbs<\/em> opinion was leaked in May, they landed on completely destroying and undermining the court\u2019s integrity.<\/p>\n<p>Without Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett, the court might have caved to pressure to appease the masses. After all, the court chief Roberts did change his mind on Obamacare in 2012 to satiate his fears over potential pushback. <\/p>\n<p>But because Trump and his Republican backing fought to put solid picks on the court, the justices stood firm and gave their final word on <em>Roe<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>Even Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, albeit, in a twisted, pro-abortion rhetoric kind of way, recognized Trump was somewhat responsible for the landmark decision. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause of Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, the Republican Party, [and] their supermajority in the Supreme Court, American women today have less freedom than their mothers,\u201d Pelosi said in a press conference on Friday. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>Under Roberts, the NeverTrumpers who <a href=\"https:\/\/mobile.twitter.com\/DavidAFrench\/status\/1540338956981587968\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">suddenly want to claim credit <\/a>for the legal victory they long opposed the Trump-forged path to, and a Hillary Clinton-led regime aided by a Supreme Court filled with activist justices, <em>Roe<\/em> would still be cursing states and permitting the butchering of millions of unborn babies. <\/p>\n<p>Under Trump, states are allowed to ban the killing of unborn babies completely. As a matter of fact, many of them <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/06\/24\/dobbs-isnt-the-end-its-the-beginning-of-a-ballot-measure-battle-to-save-preborn-lives-in-every-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">have already started<\/a> to preserve life in the womb. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is following the Constitution, and giving rights back when they should have been given long ago,\u201d Trump told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/trump-praises-supreme-court-decision-overturning-roe-v-wade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fox News<\/a> on Friday after the ruling was released. <\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p>\n  Jordan Boyd is a staff writer at The Federalist and co-producer of The Federalist Radio Hour.
