Wade<\/a> on Friday, a new report from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/06\/24\/jpmorgan-tells-employees-the-bank-will-pay-for-travel-to-states-that-allow-abortion.html\">CNBC<\/a> revealed that investment bank <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/jp-morgan\">JPMorgan Chase<\/a> will begin financing employees\u2019 travel to other states as they try to procure <a href=\"http:\/\/dailywire.com\/topic\/abortion\">abortions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The 1973 opinion \u2014 which purported that abortion is protected under the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution \u2014 was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/united-states-supreme-court-overturns-roe-v-wade-leaves-abortion-restrictions-to-states\">overturned<\/a> through the court\u2019s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization. After Justice Samuel Alito\u2019s draft opinion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-supreme-court-strikes-down-roe-v-wade-decision-in-draft-of-majority-opinion-report-says\">leaked<\/a> in early May, several businesses began announcing that they would pay travel expenses for employees obtaining abortions.<\/p>\n<p>JPMorgan Chase affirmed that it will fund employees\u2019 travel to other states as they seek abortions beginning in July, according to a June 1 memo published on Friday by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/06\/24\/jpmorgan-tells-employees-the-bank-will-pay-for-travel-to-states-that-allow-abortion.html\">CNBC<\/a>. The new benefits also apply to \u201cfamily building benefits, such as cryopreservation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will also expand our existing health care travel benefit, which today covers certain services such as organ transplants, to all covered health care services that can only be obtained far from your home,\u201d JPMorgan said.<\/p>\n<p>The memo linked to a question-and-answer page asking, \u201cWill you pay for an employee to travel to another state to seek an abortion if their state won\u2019t allow them to get one?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes. Our health care plans have historically covered travel benefits for certain covered services that would require travel,\u201d JPMorgan said. \u201cBeginning in July, we will expand this benefit to include all covered services that can only be obtained far from your home, which would include legal abortion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Technology company Microsoft made a similar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/microsoft-pledges-support-for-abortion-gender-affirming-care-travel-costs-for-employees-and-their-dependents\">announcement<\/a> earlier in May.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMicrosoft will continue to do everything we can under the law to protect our employees\u2019 rights and support employees and their enrolled dependents in accessing critical health care \u2014 which already includes services like abortion and gender-affirming care \u2014 regardless of where they live across the U.S.,\u201d Microsoft told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/video-games\/2022\/05\/11\/roe-v-wade-abortion-bungie-microsoft-activision-blizzard\/?utm_campaign=wp_main&#038;utm_source=twitter&#038;utm_medium=social\">The Washington Post<\/a>. \u201cThis support is being extended to include travel expense assistance for these and other medical services where access to care is limited in availability in an employee\u2019s home geographic region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clothing manufacturer Levi Strauss <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/levis-will-reimburse-some-employees-for-abortion-related-travel-expenses\">said<\/a> days after Alito\u2019s opinion leaked that \u201cbusiness leaders need to make their voices heard and act to protect the health and well-being of our employees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder our current benefits plan, Levi Strauss &#038; Co. employees are eligible for reimbursement for healthcare-related travel expenses for services not available in their home state, including those related to reproductive health care and abortion,\u201d the company said in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>E-commerce giant Amazon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/subsidizing-the-abortion-industry-amazon-to-fund-abortion-tourism-for-its-employees\">announced<\/a> a similar move, while a report released by electric carmaker Tesla <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/tesla-appears-to-cover-travel-expenses-for-employees-abortion-tourism\">showed<\/a> that the company added \u201ctravel and lodging support for those who may need to seek healthcare services that are unavailable in their home state\u201d to its safety net and health insurance offerings last year.<\/p>\n<p>In May, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/pelosi-private-companies-should-provide-travel-for-abortions-as-a-health-benefit\">encouraged<\/a> companies to provide travel expenses for workers procuring abortions, arguing that the overturn of Roe v. Wade would represent \u201cthe first time the court has taken back a freedom that was defined by precedent and respect for privacy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, Canadian Minister of Families Karina Gould <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/abortion-tourism-goes-global-canadas-minister-of-families-says-americans-would-be-provided-abortions-following-roe-leak\">said<\/a> that Americans would be welcome to get abortions in her nation, saying that she was \u201cconcerned\u201d about the implications of the Supreme Court\u2019s decision for American and Canadian women.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v.
