While speaking to reporters on Thursday, Rhonda Ezell, the founder of the organization Chicago Guns Matter, spoke about the impact the court\u2019s decision will have on gun rights.<\/p>\n<p>Ezell founded the organization after she won an appeal in her federal lawsuit against Chicago over the city\u2019s ban on gun ranges. Prior to this, the Supreme Court struck down New York\u2019s conceal carry law in a six to three decision.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cThis means a lot because our rights have been trampled out for decades,\u201d said Ezell. \u201cEven up to this day, they were still trying to impose more racist gun control measures that does nothing to stop the violence. All they want to do is disarm America for their little utopia of socialism and communism. In this case, here put a stamp onto that, it\u2019s not going to happen and that they have to respect what the Second Amendment is.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Second Amendment advocate then went on to describe how she felt about her court victory being referenced during the justice\u2019s deliberation.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cSo, for our cases to be cited in this New York state rifle and pistol case, it means a lot to me as much as it does to anyone else in this country,\u201d she noted.\u00a0 \u201cBut it\u2019s for everyone, it\u2019s for all of us, because it\u2019s going to set a precedent across this nation that we are not standing for tyranny from the political powers that be.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the meantime, Ezell spoke about what she has in store for the future of Chicago Guns Matter.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cI\u2019m looking for someone to invest and bring a gun range in the city of Chicago, so that we can further educate the Black community \u2014 any community, all communities \u2014 because we want to get over the stigma of it\u2019s taboo when you talk about firearm ownership in the Black community,\u201d she continued.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">To everyone that likes to talk down on Chicago, today would be a great day to honor the work we&#8217;ve put forth in fighting to keep our freedoms in this country.<\/p>\n<p>Real Talk. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/3XzVYYnCbK\">https:\/\/t.co\/3XzVYYnCbK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ms. Ezell (@ms_ezell) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ms_ezell\/status\/1540020773921898499?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 23, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Senate passed a bipartisan gun control bill, which incentivizes funding for state red flag laws.
