A spokesperson for 7-Eleven confirmed that listing a price of $7.11 used to be a common practice from contractors for newly built stores.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden has called on Congress to institute a 3-month suspension, or \u201choliday,\u201d of federal gas taxes to curb high gas prices, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2022\/06\/22\/what-is-gas-tax-biden-holiday\/7697160001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">USA Today<\/a>. He has also requested states take similar action on their own gas taxes to lower prices even further, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook photo, shared over 300 times, allegedly shows a 7-Eleven gas station selling gas for $7.11 per gallon, though it does not specify when and where the image was taken. \u201cThe prophecy has been fulfilled,\u201d the post\u2019s caption reads. The image first appeared on the message forum <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/mildlyinteresting\/comments\/m7xdap\/this_new_7elevens_test_gas_prices\/\"><span>Reddit<\/span><\/a><span> in March 2021. \u201cThis new 7-Eleven\u2019s test gas prices,\u201d its original caption reads, suggesting the prices were being used as a test for the electronic sign.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThis photo is more than a year old.
