(AP Photo\/Sue Ogrocki, File)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>OAN NEWSROOM<br \/>UPDATED 1:42 PM PT \u2013 Thursday, June 23 2022<\/h5>\n<p>Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt (R) is waiting for the state Senate to pass his inflation relief package as he advocates for real solutions to the Biden inflation crisis. The Governor voiced that he is dedicated to providing Oklahomans relief amid skyrocketing gas prices, high taxes and runaway inflation.<\/p>\n<p>He insisted that Oklahomans need \u201crelief right now,\u201d not just a check for a tank of gas that will come in December.\u201d This comes after Stitt called for a special session of the legislature back in May and demanded more solutions. He said Oklahoma is one of only 13 states taxing groceries and that he\u2019s committed to changing this in his inflation relief package.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cMy inflation relief plan includes eliminating the state grocery tax and cutting personal income tax for every single Oklahoman,\u201d he stated. \u201cThis will save the average Oklahoma family $453 each and every year.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Governor was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, who also highlighted the Biden administration\u2019s inability to provide real relief with it\u2019s current budget plan. He reminded Oklahomans they should not have to wait for the Federal Government.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe only tax reform that\u2019s currently in the budget is motor vehicle tax,\u201d the governor uttered. \u201cThat\u2019s not real relief. It only helps those who can afford a new car or\u00a0 truck in the first place. Cutting the new car sales tax does nothing for families who are struggling to afford price for food, gas and everything in between.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">If President Biden really wants to help lower energy costs for Americans, he should stop following the socialist Democrats\u2019 energy playbook and start following Oklahoma\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>My response response to the president&#8217;s proposal for a three-month federal gas tax holiday: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/8wESy7MoOv\">pic.twitter.com\/8wESy7MoOv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Governor Kevin Stitt (@GovStitt) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovStitt\/status\/1539657664472694784?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 22, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition to inflation relief, Stitt said he will always \u201cback the blue\u201d and ensure state law enforcement receives a pay increase.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cSomething I\u2019m really excited about is pay increases four our law enforcement, he expressed. We will always back the blue in Oklahoma.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Stitt is now seeking re-election for his second term and his campaign got a major boost. He got backed with the backing of Trump.
