Califf, FDA commissioner, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/06\/23\/health\/fda-juul-ecigarettes-ban.html\">said<\/a> in a press release Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe agency has dedicated significant resources to review products from the companies that account for most of the U.S. market,\u201d he added. \u201cWe recognize these make up a significant part of the available products and many have played a disproportionate role in the rise in youth vaping.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/fda-to-order-juul-e-cigarettes-off-u-s-market-11655904689?mod=e2tw\">The Wall Street Journal<\/a> reported that the FDA was poised to ban Juul.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe marketing denial order would follow a nearly two-year review of data presented by the vaping company, which sought authorization for its tobacco- and menthol-flavored products to stay on the U.S. market,\u201d the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>Juul \u2014 which markets itself as an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.juul.com\/\">alternative<\/a>\u00a0to cigarettes for adult smokers \u2014 sells nicotine capsules smoked through a small device.
