There is no evidence suggesting such a text exchange exists.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Jan. 6 Committee allegedly is in possession of text exchanges between Meadows and Ginni Thomas conspiring to overturn the 2020 election, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/03\/25\/media\/ginni-thomas-mark-meadows-texts-reliable-sources\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a>. The Committee recently sent a letter asking Ginni Thomas to testify, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/capitol-siege-biden-us-supreme-court-bennie-thompson-clarence-thomas-2e03382f62232ac32be319633538a18a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Associated Press<\/a>. She later told <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/16\/ginni-thomas-talk-testify-january-6-committee-clear-up-thompson-eastman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Daily Caller<\/a> she \u201cc[ouldn\u2019t] wait to clear up misconceptions\u201d with the Committee.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook post shows a screengrab of a tweet claiming CNN released text exchanges between Ginni Thomas and Meadows pertaining to \u201ccoup buses.\u201d The tweet went <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Nelva31501410\/status\/1537487797883379712\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">viral<\/a>, with more than 12,000 retweets.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">CNN leaked some more texts. Ginni: <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/cdn-cgi\/l\/email-protection\" class=\"__cf_email__\" data-cfemail=\"99f3eceaedf0fafcfaf5f8ebfcf7fafcedf1f6f4f8ead9eaece9ebfcf4fcfaf6ecebedb7e9ebf0eff8edfc\">[email\u00a0protected]<\/a>,\u201d reads the tweet in part, alleging Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was aware of the texts as well.<\/p>\n<p>The claims are not true. Released archives of texts sent between Meadows and others, such as those reported on by <a href=\"https:\/\/nymag.com\/intelligencer\/2022\/03\/read-clarence-thomass-wife-virginias-texts-to-mark-meadows.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Magazine<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/24\/virginia-thomas-mark-meadows-texts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Washington Post<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2022\/04\/25\/politics\/read-mark-meadows-texts-sean-hannity-ivanka-trump-marjorie-taylor-greene\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a>, do not suggest a conversation regarding \u201ccoup buses\u201d or Venmo payments occurred at all. There are no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=coup+buses+ginni+thomas&#038;source=lnms&#038;tbm=nws&#038;sa=X&#038;ved=2ahUKEwij7Pbq9774AhXFXc0KHTX5BP0Q_AUoAXoECAEQAw&#038;biw=1440&#038;bih=821&#038;dpr=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">news reports<\/a> suggesting the committee possesses texts referring to such topics.<\/p>\n<p>A CNN spokesperson confirmed to <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/Fact-Check-Satire-Capitol-Insurrection-Texts-643546347076\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Associated Press<\/a> that the media outlet did not publish the messages featured in the Twitter post. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/05\/19\/fact-check-clarence-ginni-thomas-wine-photo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Image Show Clarence And Ginni Thomas Celebrating The Reversal Of Roe V. Wade?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The supposed texts originate from a satirical article in The New Yorker titled, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/humor\/daily-shouts\/leaked-mark-meadows-texts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Almost-Believable Leaked Mark Meadows Texts<\/a>,\u201d featuring other alleged texts from various White House personnel. The article was published in the Daily Shouts section, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=new+yorker+daily+shouts+satire&#038;oq=new+yorker+daily+shouts+satire&#038;aqs=chrome..69i57j69i60.11729j0j4&#038;sourceid=chrome&#038;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">described<\/a> as \u201cThe New Yorker\u2019s regular dose of humor, satire, and funny observations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time Ginni and Clarence Thomas have been the subject of misinformation.
