In his speech earlier in the day, he once again called on gas companies to increase production to ease <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/biden-mocks-oil-company-for-proposing-solutions-to-bring-down-gas-prices-as-american-families-suffer\/\">consumers\u2019 pain at the pump<\/a> \u2014 but he was careful to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/biden-implies-americas-options-are-either-high-gas-prices-or-putin-controlling-europe\/\">lay the blame<\/a> for the high prices at the feet of Russian President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<p>Memoli focused on Biden\u2019s comments about the gas companies, noting that the president has often criticized them for taking in profits while Americans struggle to fill their tanks. \u201cYou heard him talk about the oil companies who are making record profits at a time that Americans are increasingly concerned about record costs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>But when it was Farzad\u2019s turn to weigh in, he burst into song.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">MSNBC guest brings his boy band best to live segment on gas prices and the Biden administration&#8217;s treatment of gas companies. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/EayXr1uHTO\">pic.twitter.com\/EayXr1uHTO<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Virginia Kruta (@VAKruta) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VAKruta\/status\/1539711445717368833?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 22, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid you see this back and forth between Biden and the CEO of Chevron, and kind of his emotions?\u201d Farzad asked. \u201cIt was so touchy feely, and I could see, if the oil executives had, kind of more chill to them, they\u2019d be like \u2018quit playing games with my heart, with my heart.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, it\u2019s hard. You want to plan, you want to build refineries, you shut things down. And Biden, in one breath, wants to tell you \u2018you guys gotta be patriotic, you gotta do more.\u2019 In the other breath, he wants to decarbonize, and you can\u2019t just say let\u2019s just flip these things back online,\u201d he explained. \u201cYou can\u2019t just go and say let\u2019s flood the market with all of these refined products. We have a refinery bottleneck right now. This takes years of visibility and years of guidance that the White House is pretty loath to give.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tur pushed back, despite being \u201cthrown\u201d by her guest\u2019s singing, asking whether Americans would really feel bad for gas companies if they had to take a hit.<\/p>\n<p>But Farzad is not the only one making that point \u2014 that the Biden administration can\u2019t expect the gas companies to absorb the cost and risk while also promising to put an end to fossil fuels. CNN anchor <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/cnn-anchor-confronts-energy-secretary-on-bidens-oil-company-bait-and-switch\/\">John Berman<\/a> raised a similar question just few days earlier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese companies are saying, you know, \u2018You\u2019re asking me to do more now, invest more now, when in fact five or 10 years from now we don\u2019t think that demand will be there, and the administration doesn\u2019t even necessarily want it to be there,&#8217;\u201d he told Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm last week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MSNBC guest Roben Farzad launched into his own rendition of the Backstreet Boys hit \u201cQuit Playing Games With My Heart\u201d during a Wednesday afternoon segment with host Katy Tur.
