The president needled Republicans who have attacked him over record-high gas prices by asking them if they would rather abandon the Ukrainian people and let Putin gain more power.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor all Republicans in Congress criticizing me today for high gas prices in America, are you now saying we were wrong to support Ukraine? Are you saying we were wrong to stand up to Putin?\u201d the president said as images of Ukrainian flags flashed behind him. \u201cAre you saying that we\u2019d rather have lower gas prices in America than Putin\u2019s iron fist in Europe?\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden: &#8220;For all Republicans criticizing me for high gas prices in America, are you now saying we were wrong to support Ukraine and stand up to Putin? Are you saying that we&#8217;d rather have lower gas prices in America than Putin&#8217;s iron fist in Europe?&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Z7U8YIFgnM\">pic.twitter.com\/Z7U8YIFgnM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Greg Price (@greg_price11) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/greg_price11\/status\/1539674290072834049?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 22, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Experts like The Heritage Foundation\u2019s Katie Tubb have pointed out for quite some time that the cost of gasoline was rising well before Putin ever invaded Ukraine in February.<\/p>\n<p>The president\u2019s anti-fossil fuel rhetoric, alongside policy and increase in regulation, has contributed to the high prices of gasoline, she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis has been the clear and consistent message of President Biden from the campaign trail through to just last month when he stated that high gasoline prices are just part of his incredible transition\u2019 away from the fuel that supplies 90% of Americans\u2019 transportation needs,\u201d Tubb recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/the-pain-is-the-point-energy-secretary-blasted-after-saying-summer-gas-prices-were-going-to-be-rough\">explained<\/a> to The Daily Wire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCertainly Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine is also being priced into oil markets, as is higher summertime demand for gasoline during vacation season,\u201d Tubbs added. \u201cBut to stop there is to totally ignore the policy choices being made by the Biden administration that had already led to a 48% increase in gasoline prices before Russia invaded Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Turner, founder and executive director of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/powerthefuture.com\/\">Power the Future<\/a>, also recently told The Daily Wire that the Biden administration has been actively discouraging investment in the oil and gas industry, which has led to an increase in prices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe [Biden administration] has created a regulatory and financial climate which punishes the fossil fuel industry,\u201d Turner claimed. \u201cFrom the [the Department of Interior], to [the Environmental Protection Agency], to [the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission], every agency is sending signals that fossil fuels are not welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Turner explained that inflation is simply a byproduct of those policies as they impact the economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe markets are responding in kind,\u201d Turner said. \u201cSadly, fossil fuels are much more than the Biden admin. is willing to admit, and pushing wind and solar and [electric vehicles] does nothing to alleviate rising inflation, food prices, and consumer food prices.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/chevron-ceo-rips-bidens-attempts-to-vilify-oil-industry-in-scathing-letter\">reported<\/a> that Chevron CEO Michael Wirth sent Biden a letter, writing out exactly what Biden can be doing to enact long-term growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need clarity and consistency on policy matters ranging from leases and permits on federal lands, to the ability to permit and build critical infrastructure, to the proper role of regulation that considers both costs and benefits,\u201d Wirth explained.<\/p>\n<p>Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-mocks-oil-company-for-proposing-solutions-to-bring-down-gas-prices-as-american-families-suffer\">responded<\/a> to that letter by calling Wirth \u201cmildly sensitive\u201d and joking that he \u201cdidn\u2019t know they\u2019d get their feelings hurt that quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED: <\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Joe Biden implied to the American people on Wednesday that their only options as it relates to the current economic order are either dealing with high gas prices or allowing Russian President Vladimir Putin to gain more influence in Europe.
