The embattled law enforcement officer has been missing meetings after his election following\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/they-couldve-been-shot-texas-cop-explains-why-police-waited-to-enter-uvalde-school\/\">controversy<\/a> surrounding his department\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/of-course-it-was-not-the-right-decision-dps-director-says-cops-should-have-charged-uvalde-school\/\">botched response<\/a> to the mass shooting that took place at Robb Elementary School on May 24.<\/p>\n<p>In the weeks since the shooting, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/uvalde-cops-knew-kids-were-still-alive-inside-the-school-and-waited-outside-anyway-report\/\">Arredondo<\/a> has been absent from city council meetings without consequence \u2014 but that ended with Hammond\u2019s call for them to grant him no more leeway.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The next person up is Kim Hammond. She went on to say that Arredondo was her representative on the council and that even though many of his constituents wanted him off the council, efforts to have him recalled had hit a dead end.<\/p>\n<p>But then Hammond turned to the council and explained what they could do to send Arredondo packing, should they so choose.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Uvalde City Council: Extremely inspired by the lady who lives 2 doors down from the school coming up w the plan to sack Arredondo. He\u2019s my councilman. Let him miss three. Don\u2019t waste any more time on him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hammond went on to point out the rules stating that once he had missed three meetings, the other council members could simply vote him out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat you can do right now is not give him \u2014 if he requested it \u2014 a leave of absence. Don\u2019t give him an out,\u201d she said. \u201cWe don\u2019t want him. We want him out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following Hammond\u2019s impassioned speech, the council voted not to grant Arredondo a leave of absence \u2014 meaning that if he wants to keep his seat, he will be forced to attend meetings and face his constituents.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/BREAKING?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#BREAKING<\/a>: The council votes to NOT grant Pete Arredondo a leave of absence from city council.<br \/>+<br \/>\u201cKeep in mind.
