There is no evidence CNN published such an article or that Trump has challenged anyone to a UFC match.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Russian UFC fighter Islam Makhachev challenged Charles Oliveira to a fight in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in May,, scheduled for October 2022, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mma\/story\/_\/id\/33927076\/islam-makhachev-calls-charles-oliveira-wants-submit-area\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ESPN<\/a>. Makhachev is seeking to win the vacant UFC lightweight title, claiming he \u201cdeserve[s] it\u201d on the back of a 10-fight winning streak, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Instagram <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/pkK2b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">post<\/a>, which garnered over 800 likes, allegedly shows an article from CNN titled, \u201cDonald Trump says he would beat Islam Makhachev in the second round, \u2018Believe me, folks.&#8217;\u201d The article is attributed to CNN editor Chris Cillizza and published in CNN\u2019s newsletter, \u201cThe Point with Chris Cillizza.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIslam Makhachev is on everyone\u2019s mind,\u201d the post\u2019s caption claims in part. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/06\/02\/fact-check-did-cnn-publish-depp-rittenhouse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did CNN Report On Johnny Depp And Kyle Rittenhouse Organizing A National Tour Together?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is no evidence CNN published such an article. The alleged article cannot be found on the outlet\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/search?q=donald+trump+islam+makhachev\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=donald%20trump%20islam%20makhachev%20(from%3Acnn)&#038;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/cnn\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/page\/5550296508\/search\/?q=donald%20trump%20islam%20makhachev\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accounts<\/a>. Additionally, no information on such an article could be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/specials\/politics\/the-point-with-chris-cillizza\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> for \u201cThe Point with Chris Cillizza\u201d or Cillizza\u2019s official\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=donald%20trump%20islam%20makhachev%20(from%3Achriscillizza)&#038;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter profile<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The post appears to have taken another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/06\/20\/politics\/donald-trump-crowd-size-mlk-speech\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">article<\/a> with the same picture, titled \u201cDonald Trump just compared his crowds to MLK\u2019s \u2018I Have A Dream\u2019 speech.\u201d The article makes no mention of any bout between Trump and any UFC fighters.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, there is no evidence Trump made this challenge to Makhachev either. It was not announced on the news page of Trump\u2019s official <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donaldjtrump.com\/news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> nor does any announcement appear on Makhachev\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/islam_makhachev\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=Trump%20(from%3A%40MAKHACHEVMMA)&#038;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a> accounts.
