I\u2019m calling on Congress to act quickly and pass the American Rescue Plan,\u201d Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/POTUS\/status\/1358781381984325632\">tweeted<\/a> on February 8.<\/p>\n<p>The actual relief package, however, wouldn\u2019t all be spent immediately, even for things deemed necessary to reopen schools.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s \u201cplan is padded with non-urgent, pre-existing Democratic policy priorities that have, at most, only tangential relationship to the crisis at hand,\u201d Suderman reported.<\/p>\n<p>For example, Biden\u2019s plan calls for another $170 billion for education, including nearly $128 billion going to K-12 schools \u201cfor preparation for, prevention of, and response to the coronavirus pandemic or for other uses allowed by other federal education program.\u201d Despite Biden\u2019s claims that the money is needed urgently, \u201cThe vast majority of the relief plan\u2019s money for schools wouldn\u2019t be spent in the current fiscal year, or even next year,\u201d Suderman reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrevious coronavirus relief and congressional spending bills have already included more than $100 billion in funding for schools. But&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/biden-education-relief-2021-cbo-cost-estimate\">according<\/a>&nbsp;to the Congressional Budget Office, \u2018most of those funds remain to be spent,\u2019\u201d Suderman added.<\/p>\n<p>While Biden is calling for $170 billion, just $6 billion would be spent this fiscal year, with another $32 billion spent next year.<\/p>\n<p>The relief package also calls for $350 billion to bail out state budgets. The figure was based on a previous projection that state budgets would be down about 8% this year, but The Wall Street Journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/covid-19s-hit-to-state-and-local-revenues-is-smaller-than-many-feared-11612706030\">reported<\/a> the real drop is just 1.6%. Further, 18 states ended 2020 with projected revenue increases. California, for example, would receive billions from Biden\u2019s relief plan even though it has a projected revenue surplus of $15 billion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s more like this peppered throughout Biden\u2019s pandemic relief plan. Biden and his communications team raise the issue of food insecurity\u2014then insist that checks should go to a two-earner family with stable jobs&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/2021\/02\/04\/joe-biden-wants-his-stimulus-to-help-people-who-are-hurting-like-families-making-120000-a-year\/\">making $120,000 a year<\/a>&nbsp;in a city with a roughly&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/quickfacts\/fact\/table\/scrantoncitypennsylvania\/PST120219\">$40,000 annual median income<\/a>&nbsp;for couples,\u201d Suderman wrote, adding that couples with these salaries have generally avoided losing any money during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>As The Daily Wire\u2019s Emily Zanotti <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/use-democrats-have-proposed-a-new-1-9-trillion-covid-relief-package-heres-whats-in-it\">reported<\/a> last week, the pandemic-related measures of the bill would provide $1,400 stimulus checks to individuals that phase out starting at certain incomes, an extension to federal supplemental unemployment benefits, and increases the budget for the WIC food stamps program, as well as providing funds for mortgage payment and rental assistance.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/subscribe\">The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
