All of the clips in the video are taken out of context.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Fact Check:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Concerns regarding the president\u2019s inability to effectively tackle multiple crises have prompted discussion about a potential removal from the 2024 presidential ticket, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/06\/11\/us\/politics\/biden-2024-election-democrats.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The New York Times<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook video, viewed over 14,000 times, shows clips of Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, Republican Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton and Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz allegedly discussing impeachment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018BIDEN IMPEACHMENT IN PROGRESS\u2019 \u2013 Rand Paul Gets Up and EXPOSES Adam Schiff and Entire Democrats,\u201d the post\u2019s caption reads.<\/p>\n<p>No such proceeding is taking place in either the House of Representatives or the Senate. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/search?q=%7B%22source%22%3A%22congrecord%22%2C%22search%22%3A%22impeach%20Biden%22%7D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Congressional Record<\/a> does not show any recent introduction of any articles of impeachment. There are no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=biden+impeachment+proceedings&#038;sxsrf=ALiCzsbndvg5uXqyMemtFqaRYOuM0ljI0w%3A1655840520560&#038;ei=CB-yYojcIcLYptQP8aW2qAI&#038;ved=0ahUKEwiIgKHQpr_4AhVCrIkEHfGSDSUQ4dUDCA4&#038;uact=5&#038;oq=biden+impeachment+proceedings&#038;gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EANKBQg8EgExSgQIQRgBSgQIRhgAUMEBWOEOYKkQaAFwAHgAgAFFiAGJBpIBAjEymAEAoAEBwAEB&#038;sclient=gws-wiz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">news reports<\/a> suggesting the House or the Senate are currently discussing impeachment proceedings against Biden.<\/p>\n<p>Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Republican Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/house-resolution\/57\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">separate<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/house-resolution\/680?s=1&#038;r=27\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">articles<\/a> of impeachment against Biden last year, but neither articles advanced or were voted on.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/06\/07\/fact-check-rand-paul-covid-vaccines-tweet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Rand Paul Tweet He Had Evidence COVID-19 Vaccines Kill People?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first part of Paul <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=KTiGZeyZw3s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">speaking on the senate floor<\/a> is from January 2021, in which he discussed the second impeachment of former President Donald Trump for his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill riots. The clip at the end of the video shows him <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=oPSb9WbTYkQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">criticizing a nominee<\/a> May 6 that was selected to serve on the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s Disinformation Governance Board.<\/p>\n<p>Cotton\u2019s remarks were part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=u82Xr4F89Dw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">an exchange<\/a> in October 2021 between himself and U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland. The exchange was over a school board memo that sought to combat violence during those meetings at the time, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/education-violence-school-boards-merrick-garland-congress-6069cd1bf2286bcc57c62e679db6780f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Associated Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Cruz\u2019s remarks stem from a May 4 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ABCNewsLive\/videos\/2195570367259684\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">news conference<\/a> held by Republican senators over concerns about the economy. Neither Cruz or any other senator called for Biden to be impeached at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Cruz did recently warn, however, that Republicans would potentially seek to impeach Biden if they won the house in the upcoming midterms, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2022\/01\/04\/ted-cruz-joe-biden-impeachment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Texas Tribune<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time false claims about an impeachment of Biden have appeared on social media.
