Version: 4.0.47--><p>Amber Heard, who owes ex-husband Johnny Depp millions of dollars, was spotted last week discount shopping at clothing chain TJ Maxx and is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10940093\/She-lose-Amber-Heard-write-tell-book-shes-broke.html?ico=most_shared_articles_mol.web.desktop_&#038;ito=social-twitter_mailonline\">reportedly<\/a>\u00a0in talks to\u00a0write a tell-all book about the couple\u2019s marriage.<\/p>\n<p>A jury recently found that Heard defamed Depp in an op-ed about domestic violence published by The Washington Post in 2018, awarding Depp a total of $15 million in monetary damages, though it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/jury-awards-johnny-depp-15-million-but-hell-get-millions-less-heres-why\">dropped<\/a> to $10.35 million due to Virginia law.<\/p>\n<p>Customers at a TJ Maxx in the Hamptons spotted the \u201cAquaman\u201d actress on Thursday scoring some clothing with her sister.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeard was shopping at the TJ Maxx in Bridgehampton, NY \u2014 where the average home goes for around $3.8 million according to Zillow \u2014 so she probably isn\u2019t maxing out her credit cards at the big box chain,\u201d the New York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/06\/19\/broke-amber-heard-spotted-shopping-at-tj-maxx\/\">reported<\/a>. \u201cPictures taken by a sneaky shopper show Heard wearing jeans and an oversized white button-down T-shirt while looking at clothes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Amber Heard&#8217;s money situation is apparently somewhat dire these days in the wake of the Johnny Depp verdict \u2014 which awarded $8.3 million in damages \u2014 so in light of that \u2026 to TJ Maxx it is. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/nemxxIKSg9\">https:\/\/t.co\/nemxxIKSg9<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 TMZ (@TMZ) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TMZ\/status\/1538432347162435586?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 19, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Plus, the Daily Mail <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10940093\/She-lose-Amber-Heard-write-tell-book-shes-broke.html?ico=most_shared_articles_mol.web.desktop_&#038;ito=social-twitter_mailonline\">reported<\/a> that Heard is in talks to ink a book deal about her marriage to Depp.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u201cA source close to the Aquaman star claimed the 36-year-old actress<a class href=\"https:\/\/okmagazine.com\/p\/amber-heard-inks-multi-million-dollar-defame-johnny-depp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0<\/a>was \u2018broke\u2019 and not \u2018in a position to turn down money,&#8217;\u201d the report said, adding, \u201cThey said she \u2018considers her career in Hollywood over\u2019 and \u2018has nothing to lose\u2019 following a disastrous few months.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps Heard is pinching pennies at TJ Maxx and seeking a multi-million dollar book deal to pay back Depp.<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s not likely.<\/p>\n<p>The actress has made clear that she has no intention of paying back her ex-husband, routinely having her representatives emphasize that she is broke.<\/p>\n<p>For example, Elaine Bredehoft, an attorney for Heard, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/amber-heards-lawyer-johnny-depp-absolutely-not-getting-the-10-35-million-he-is-owed-from-heard\">told<\/a> NBC \u201cToday\u201d host Savannah Guthrie earlier this month that her client was \u201cabsolutely not\u201d able to pay Depp the millions he is owed.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, it\u2019s been speculated that Depp won\u2019t even seek the money from Heard.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cPirates of the Caribbean\u201d actor and his legal team have emphasized that Depp wanted his name cleared above all else. And it could potentially turn off some people if Depp squeezes Heard for the money.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI imagine \u2014 and if I\u2019m team Depp, this is what I would do \u2014 they\u2019d look at getting an injunction to stop Amber Heard from repeating statements that the jury found were defamatory and then stipulating that the payments won\u2019t be made and there won\u2019t be any judgment outstanding,\u201d legal analyst Emily D. Baker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/happens-amber-heard-cant-pay-222518813.html\">told<\/a> PEOPLE magazine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf he\u2019s not interested in the money, I think he\u2019s more interested in her not repeating these allegations,\u201d Baker added.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps most importantly, Heard doesn\u2019t seem the type to pay her debts, or, uh, \u201cpledges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actress notably boasted on television that she donated every cent of her $7 million divorce settlement to the Children\u2019s Hospital Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).<\/p>\n<p>But she didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn court, ACLU general counsel Terence Dougherty testified that Heard has not given the full $3.5 million she promised to the organization,\u201d The Daily Wire\u2019s Ashe Schow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/the-14-most-shocking-revelations-in-the-johnny-depp-amber-heard-defamation-trial\">reported<\/a>. \u201cDougherty testified she has so far only provided $1.3 million, and only $350,000 of that was donated by Heard herself. Another $100,000 came from Depp, and $500,000 is believed to have been donated on Heard\u2019s behalf by billionaire Elon Musk, who dated Heard for almost a year after her divorce from Depp, Deadline\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2022\/04\/johnny-depp-amber-heard-elon-musk-aclu-1235012179\/\">reported<\/a>.
