Marjorie Taylor Greene<\/a>\u2018s (R-GA) office.<\/p>\n<p>Just the News <a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/government\/congress\/democrat-congressmans-staffer-caught-defacing-posters-capitol-complex-doj-wont\">reported<\/a> Monday that Timothy Duane Hysom, chief of staff for Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-MA), was referred for criminal charges by Capitol Police, but the U.S. Attorney\u2019s office declined to approve an arrest warrant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCapitol Police asked federal prosecutors back in March for an arrest warrant for Timothy Hysom, 51, a longtime Democrat congressional staffer who worked for Rep. Adam Schiff before rising to be Auchincloss\u2019s top aide, after capturing Hysom on hidden camera security footage defacing Greene\u2019s posters with stickers with religious messages, according to copy of the arrest warrant obtained by Just the News,\u201d the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPolice said they believed Hysom may have been involved in seven defacing of posters outside Greene\u2019s office in the Longworth Congressional Office Building between January and March and that he declined to be interviewed when confronted,\u201d Just the News reported. The staffers were <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2022\/06\/late-night-with-stephen-colbert-staffers-detained-by-capitol-police-1235048143\/\">found<\/a> near the offices of Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), according to Deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Friday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/tucker-carlson-says-stephen-colbert-staffers-arrested-at-capitol-should-be-locked-up-in-solitary-like-january-6-defendants\">highlighted<\/a> an apparent double-standard based on politics.<\/p>\n<p>The Colbert staffers, Carlson said, were \u201ccharged with unlawful entry into the Capitol complex \u2014 now that\u2019s the exact same charge that many January 6 defendants face.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll just get right to it: It\u2019s likely that some members of Stephen Colbert\u2019s team will be held in solitary confinement for a year and a half without being charged,\u201d he asserted. \u201cWhy? Because this is an insurrection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoking aside,\u201d Carlson continued, \u201cHow could they not be held for a year and half in solitary confinement without being charged?\u00a0Because the precedent is in place.
