An Atlantic spokesperson confirmed the outlet did not publish such an article.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden fell off his bike on Saturday during a ride in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware as he met with onlookers and reporters, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/06\/18\/us\/politics\/biden-falls-bike-rehoboth-beach.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The New York Times<\/a>. He did not need any medical attention after the fall, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook post purportedly shows an article from The Atlantic titled, \u201cThe Heroism of Biden\u2019s Bike Fall.\u201d The article\u2019s subheadline states the president \u201cgracefully illustrated an important lesson for all Americans \u2013 when we fall, we must get back up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The article is digitally fabricated. A search of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/search\/?q=heroism+of+biden%27s+bike+fall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Atlantic\u2019s website<\/a> and verified <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=Heroism%20(from%3A%40TheAtlantic)&#038;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/theatlantic\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/page\/29259828486\/search\/?q=heroism\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accounts<\/a> did not yield any results for the alleged article. There are likewise no credible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=heroism+of+biden%27s+bike+fall&#038;source=lnms&#038;tbm=nws&#038;sa=X&#038;ved=2ahUKEwiUoJKck7z4AhUoAJ0JHfMSAU0Q_AUoAnoECAEQBA&#038;biw=1440&#038;bih=821&#038;dpr=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">news reports or commentary articles<\/a> that use the wording depicted in the article to describe Biden\u2019s accidental fall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can verify that this is not a real article from The Atlantic, and is indeed fabricated,\u201d said Anna Bross, a spokesperson for The Atlantic, in an email to Check Your Fact. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/06\/06\/fact-check-joe-biden-claim-second-amendment-cannons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Joe Biden Claims Individuals Could Not Buy Cannons When The Second Amendment Was Enacted)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The photo appears to include the handle @Grandoldmemes, an account that identifies as a \u201cmeme plug\u201d on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/grandoldmemes?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a> and a \u201cdigital creator\u201d on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/grandoldmemes\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time an altered screenshot of a news article has circulated on social media.
