She revealed that her father, who she called a \u201cprecious, quiet soul,\u201d had died on May 14. In the post, she shared a video of her playing the guitar and singing what she called his favorite song, \u201cThe Way I Am\u201d by Merle Haggard. She didn\u2019t offer any other details about his passing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m often private about certain sacred pieces of my life and I share them as, and if, I am ready,\u201d she wrote. \u201cMy daddy, Beamon Nettles, died last month on May 14th. He was a precious, quiet soul who made his way gently in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it is so strange and unreal that he is not here,\u201d she added. \u201cThis song was his favorite song. I have a vivid memory of him playing it on 45, singing along as I fell asleep at my grandmother\u2019s (\u2018Boo-ma\u2019) house. \u2018The Way I Am\u2019 by Merle Haggard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI sang it at his funeral,\u201d Nettles continued. \u201cHappy Father\u2019s Day Daddy. You are loved and missed. Hold your Loves close. I hope everyone had a beautiful day. And thank you to all the fathers out there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the video, we see the \u201cBaby Girl\u201d hitmaker sitting on a step and playing her guitar. Near the end, the singer appears to be holding back the tears. And at the conclusion of the song, she looks up at the ceiling and blows a kiss to her father.<\/p>\n<p>The country superstar wasn\u2019t the only celebrity who posted a touching message to their father on Father\u2019s Day.
