Sharice Davids, who <a href=\"https:\/\/craig.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/following-hearing-congressional-stock-trading-ban-representative-angie-craig\">joined<\/a> lawmakers in April demanding restrictions on members and their families owning and trading stocks, has investments worth as much as $17,000 in Maxeon Solar Technologies, SunPower Corporation and FuelCell Energy, <a href=\"https:\/\/disclosures-clerk.house.gov\/public_disc\/financial-pdfs\/2021\/10048346.pdf\">according<\/a> to her latest filing in May.<\/p>\n<p>Davids <a href=\"https:\/\/disclosures-clerk.house.gov\/public_disc\/financial-pdfs\/2018\/10028721.pdf\">reported<\/a> her FuelCell shares worth between $1 and $1,000 in July 2019 on her first filing upon assuming office. She also listed between $1,001 to $15,000 of SunPower shares that year and first reported between $1 to $1,000 of Maxeon Stock in August 2021, <a href=\"https:\/\/disclosures-clerk.house.gov\/public_disc\/financial-pdfs\/2020\/10041881.pdf\">according<\/a> to a filing.<\/p>\n<p>These companies, however, have lobbied Congress on green energy legislation and for tax credits, disclosures show. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/15\/exclusive-watchdog-john-hickenlooper-senate-stock-filing\/\"><strong>(RELATED:\u00a0EXCLUSIVE: Watchdog Demands Senate Ethics Probe Democrat\u2019s \u2018Clear Violation\u2019 Of Stock Filing Law After DCNF Investigation)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7454583\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7454583\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA \u2013 MARCH 12: Rep. (Photo by Charley Gallay\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>FuelCell spent $30,000 lobbying between January and February \u201cto restore fuel cell tax credits and Department of Energy fuel cell research funding,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/lda.senate.gov\/filings\/public\/filing\/9735398d-a3ee-4827-a469-7429d47cd82d\/print\/\">according<\/a> to its report covering that period. SunPower, which finances solar power products, <a href=\"https:\/\/lda.senate.gov\/filings\/public\/filing\/90f83271-c860-4ce4-9a56-ec2db458bf3b\/print\/\">spent<\/a> $60,000 in this same period on \u201cissues related to commercial and residential investment tax credit[s]\u201d and on several bills, including the Democratic infrastructure bill, known as the Build Back Better Act, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/10\/28\/biden-spending-framework-includes-555-billion-in-climate-incentives.html\">spends<\/a> $555 billion on green energy provisions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lightbox\">Maxeon, which designs solar products and spent $40,000 lobbying in 2021, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/federal-lobbying\/clients\/summary?cycle=2021&#038;id=F321682\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to OpenSecrets, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pv-magazine.com\/2022\/02\/01\/maxeon-to-offer-ibc-solar-panels-in-the-us\/\">said<\/a> in February it was \u201cwaiting\u201d to see \u201cpolicy changes first,\u201d including the \u201cpotential passing\u201d of the Biden-endorsed infrastructure bill, before expanding U.S. manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>Davids and the other lawmakers who demanded stock trading restrictions in April claimed they were \u201cready to work\u201d on stock reforms to prevent \u201cserious\u201d conflicts of interest. The Kansas Democrat sits on the House <a href=\"https:\/\/transportation.house.gov\/\">Committee<\/a> on Transportation and Infrastructure, which has helped <a href=\"https:\/\/energycommerce.house.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/transportation-and-infrastructure-and-energy-and-commerce-committee-leaders\">form<\/a> President Joe Biden\u2019s green energy and infrastructure agenda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know that investing in durable, resilient infrastructure is an effective way to combat the effects of climate change, and I\u2019m exploring that topic as a new member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/davids.house.gov\/issues\/energy\">said<\/a> Davids upon joining the committee.<\/p>\n<p>The lobbying reports and investments by Davids were first <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/sharice-davids-wants-to-ban-congress-from-owning-stocks-she-owns-shares-of-three-green-energy-firms\/\">reported<\/a> by The Washington Free Beacon.<\/p>\n<p>A spokeswoman for Davids declined The Daily Caller News Foundation\u2019s request for comment, noting that her office is closed for the federal Juneteenth holiday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll respond to you tomorrow,\u201d the spokeswoman said.<\/p>\n<p>FuelCell, Maxeon and SunPower did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
