Adam Schiff over not calling witnesses who &#8220;challenge&#8221; the Democrat narrative in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/January6thHearings?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#January6thHearings<\/a>: &#8220;Is that intentional because you don\u2019t want to deviate from the story line that you\u2019re trying to present to the public?&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/eTHADQdGwq\">pic.twitter.com\/eTHADQdGwq<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Virginia Kruta (@VAKruta) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VAKruta\/status\/1538619787403833345?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 19, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bash pressed <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/mollie-hemingway-drops-adam-schiff-after-elon-musks-twitter-deal-triggers-him\/\">Schiff<\/a> on what might come next if <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/raskin-channels-schiff-insists-to-cnn-he-has-evidence-republicans-begged-trump-for-january-6-pardons\/\">such evidence<\/a> should come to light, asking, \u201cHave you seen evidence that the Justice Department has already opened an investigation into the former president?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Schiff said that nothing in the public record indicated the Justice Department had begun to move in that direction. \u201cI have not seen, for example, grand juries convene in places they would be convened,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019ve been critical of the Justice Department for moving slowly. If you\u2019ve done so much work, why not help them out?\u201d Bash continued, asking why the January 6th Committee would not pass anything they discovered directly on to the DOJ.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, you know, we certainly will help them. We want them to particularize what they\u2019re asking for and it\u2019s our intention when we conclude the investigation to make public our findings in great detail,\u201d Schiff replied. \u201cBut, you know, we have a job to do as well. We\u2019re doing that. And we\u2019re doing this consistent with how the \u2014 our branch of government has operated and executive branch has operated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bash continued to press, going on to ask about the witnesses whose testimony had already been made public \u2014 and asking whether the committee was avoiding witnesses who might \u201cchallenge\u201d the desired narrative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy aren\u2019t you calling witnesses in a public way who might challenge the committee?\u201d she asked. \u201cIs that intentional because you don\u2019t want to deviate from the story line that you\u2019re trying to present to the public and, of course, potentially to the Justice Department?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo. I mean, we are interviewing, frankly, anyone that has relevant evidence,\u201d Schiff insisted. \u201cWe\u2019re putting that relevant evidence before the public and we\u2019re doing it in a way that is the most cohesive and that we can get across the salient points to the public.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CNN anchor Dana Bash grilled January 6th Committee member and Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) during a Sunday morning interview, asking him directly why the committee had not publicly interviewed any witnesses who might \u201cchallenge\u201d the narrative.
