How can they claim this would \u2018balance fairness &#038; inclusion\u2019? It\u2019s the opposite of that,\u201d Scott wrote.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u2018FIFA have drawn up new regulations that make it easier for (trans identifying males) to compete in women\u2019s football.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>If this goes through, it\u2019ll kill women\u2019s football. It\u2019s the opposite of that \ud83e\udd2c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SaveWomensSports?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#SaveWomensSports<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7Lwwp0N6DP\">pic.twitter.com\/7Lwwp0N6DP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Julie Scott \ud83c\udf52 (@judgejules75) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/judgejules75\/status\/1538436426278350848?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 19, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The report comes as the cycling tour organization UCI strengthened the requirements for biological males to participate in female cycling following the case of transgender cyclist Emily Bridges.<\/p>\n<p>During a May interview, Bridges told DIVA magazine it was wrong to claim that biological men who identify as women hold physical advantages after hormone therapy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understand how you\u2019d come to this conclusion because a lot of people still view trans women as men with male anatomies and physiologies,\u201d Bridges <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skysports.com\/more-sports\/cycling\/news\/15264\/12621919\/emily-bridges-transgender-cyclist-insists-she-has-no-advantage-over-female-competitors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut hormone replacement therapy has such a massive effect. The aerobic performance difference is gone after about four months.<\/p>\n<p>The UCI lowered the testosterone limit from five to 2.5 nanomoles per liter and now requires two years within the new range instead of one year.<\/p>\n<p>Bridges was stopped from competing in the British National Omnium Championships in March following threats of boycotts from other cyclists.<\/p>\n<p>In the U.S., controversy regarding biological males competing in women\u2019s sports has grown following University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas competing on the women\u2019s team despite being a biological male and competing in previous seasons on the men\u2019s team.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas dominated meets throughout the season, including a win at the NCAA women\u2019s swimming championships in Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p>A fellow swimmer on the University of Pennsylvania team anonymously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/upenn-swimmer-details-truth-surrounding-lia-thomas-in-new-matt-walsh-doc-what-is-a-woman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spoke<\/a> to The Daily Wire\u2019s Matt Walsh for his highly anticipated documentary, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/videos\/what-is-a-woman-official-trailer\">What Is a Woman?<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was a lot of things we couldn\u2019t talk about that was concerning,\u201d the swimmer told Walsh.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you even brought up concerns about it, you were \u2018transphobic,\u2019\u201d she told Walsh.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you even bring up the fact that Lia\u2019s swimming might not be fair, you\u2019re immediately shut down and called a hateful person, or transphobic,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FIFA, the world\u2019s largest soccer association and the organization behind the World Cup, is considering a plan that would drop the measurement of testosterone among biological men who identify as women to participate in women\u2019s soccer.
