The staffers were found near the offices of Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/lauren-boebert\">Lauren Boebert<\/a> (R-CO) and House Minority Leader <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/kevin-mccarthy\">Kevin McCarthy<\/a> (R-CA).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe learned that last night producers for Stephen Colbert\u2019s show on CBS committed insurrection at the United States Capitol,\u201d Carlson started off the segment. \u201cThe point of them being there was to harass sitting members of Congress \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/marjorie-taylor-greene\">Marjorie Taylor Greene<\/a>, Lauren Boebert.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Fox News host said the Colbert staffers were \u201ccharged with unlawful entry into the Capitol complex \u2014 now that\u2019s the exact same charge that many January 6 defendants face.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll just get right to it: It\u2019s likely that some members of Stephen Colbert\u2019s team will be held in solitary confinement for a year and a half without being charged,\u201d he asserted. \u201cWhy? Because this is an insurrection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoking aside,\u201d Carlson continued, \u201chow could they not be held for a year and half\u00a0in solitary confinement without being charged?\u00a0Because the precedent is in place. And how in the world can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/adam-schiff\">Adam Schiff<\/a>, again, who spent the last year and a half eliminating the civil liberties of Trump voters on the basis of January 6, do the exact same thing and not face punishment?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Republicans have <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/06\/18\/republicans-accuse-adam-schiff-of-allowing-colbert-staff-into-capitol\/\">accused<\/a> Schiff of letting in the Colbert staffers.<\/p>\n<p>WUSA9 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wusa9.com\/article\/news\/verify\/why-capitol-riot-defendants-being-held-without-bond-before-trial-january-6-congress\/65-1e4d4dd6-eded-4187-85f1-d4dfcc3a9519\">confirmed<\/a> last year that certain January 6 defendants are being held in jail without bond before their trials.<\/p>\n<p>Citing a \u201clandmark decision,\u201d Neama Rahmani, a former federal prosecutor, said that suspects accused of assaulting police officers, or \u201cdid, you know, break windows, force open doors, and those types of things,\u201d have been jailed without bond before their trials, which reportedly may be \u201cyears\u201d away from the defendants\u2019 arrest.<\/p>\n<p>A man named <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/different-from-any-other-jail-in-america-a-january-6-prisoner-speaks-out\">Jacob Lang<\/a>, a January 6 defendant who spoke with The Daily Wire earlier this year, said he spent 200 days in solitary confinement \u2014 which included 23 hours a day alone in a cell \u2014 and has been in jail since 10 days after the Capitol riot in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Lang is accused of numerous assaults on police, but contends he was saving lives from police brutality, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/different-from-any-other-jail-in-america-a-january-6-prisoner-speaks-out\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported.
