The lawyers said that following her conviction, Maxwell was moved to the prison\u2019s general population and became a \u201ctarget of a credible death threat from a fellow inmate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA prisoner in Ms. Maxwell\u2019s housing unit told at least three other inmates that she had been offered money to murder Ms. Maxwell and that she planned to strangle Ms. Maxwell in her sleep, the lawyers wrote,\u201d the Times noted. \u201cThe inmate who made the threat was moved to a different unit, \u2018presumably to protect Ms. Maxwell,\u2019 the lawyers said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis incident reflects the brutal reality,\u201d Maxwell\u2019s lawyers wrote, adding \u201cthat there are numerous prison inmates who would not hesitate to kill Ms. Maxwell \u2014 whether for money, fame, or simple \u2018street cred.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Justice declined to comment on the matter to the newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>The explosive allegations come after Maxwell\u2019s pal, convicted child sex predator Jeffrey Epstein, died in a New York City prison cell in August 2019, weeks after he was arrested on new sex trafficking charges.<\/p>\n<p>The circumstances surrounding Epstein\u2019s death have led to speculation over whether he committed suicide, which was the official cause of death, or whether someone killed him, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/nyu-medical-professor-epstein-death-more-likely-ryan-saavedra\">explanation<\/a> that some experts have suggested.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmong the bones broken in Epstein\u2019s neck was the hyoid bone, which in men is near the Adam\u2019s apple,\u201d The Washington Post\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/autopsy-finds-broken-bones-in-jeffrey-epsteins-neck-deepening-questions-around-his-death\/2019\/08\/14\/d09ac934-bdd9-11e9-b873-63ace636af08_story.html\">reported<\/a>. \u201cSuch breaks can occur in those who hang themselves, particularly if they are older, according to forensics experts and studies on the subject. But they are more common in victims of homicide by strangulation, the experts said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Luc Brunel, the former French model agency boss and associate to the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, was found dead in his prison cell in Paris earlier this year where he was being held on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2022\/feb\/19\/jean-luc-brunel-held-on-suspicion-of-supplying-girls-to-epstein-found-hanged\">suspicion<\/a> that he supplied underage girls to Epstein.<\/p>\n<p>Initially his death was reported by many as a suicide because of statements made by his lawyers, however, ABC News later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/french-officials-decline-to-confirm-that-epstein-associate-died-in-prison-from-suicide-report\">reported<\/a> that French officials have declined to confirm those details.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrunel was initially arrested in Charles De Gaulle Airport in December 2020,\u201d the report added. \u201cAccording to Paris prosecutors, Brunel was initially held in a probe into the rape of minors and trafficking of minors for sexual exploitation in association with their probe into possible crimes committed by Epstein. Days later, Brunel was charged with rape of minors over the age of 15 and sexual harassment.
