She said she is \u201clooking forward to speaking with the committee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thomas made the comment to the Daily Caller on Thursday, and told the outlet she can\u2019t wait to clear up misconceptions. This came as Committee Chairman Benny Thompson (D-Miss.) told reporters the panel sent a letter to Thomas requesting she testify before them.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cWe have sent Ms. Thomas a letter asking to come and talk to the committee,\u201d Thompson said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">NEW: Jan. 6 Select Committee Chair Bennie Thompson says they will request testimony from Ginni Thomas in light of the Eastman emails.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe think it\u2019s time that we, at some point, invite her to come talk to the committee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Andrew Solender (@AndrewSolender) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AndrewSolender\/status\/1537454198194946049?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 16, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The conservative activist is reportedly being targeted by the committee over text messages to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and alleged emails to Attorney John Eastman regarding the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>Thompson said the emails \u201cmight come up at some point\u201d in their hearings, though they were still in the \u201cdiscovery phase.\u201d Eastman claimed he did not discuss matters before the Supreme Court with Ginni Thomas or her husband.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"story-text__paragraph\" data-content-child-index=\"0-7\"><strong>\u201cWhether or not those news accounts were true, I can categorically confirm that at no time did I discuss with Mrs. Thomas or Justice Thomas any matters pending or likely to come before the Court,\u201d Eastman voiced. \u201cThe emails with Ginni Thomas were related to an invitation to give an update about election litigation to a group she met with periodically.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Thomas\u2019s attempts to overturn the election results have drawn fierce criticism from Democrats. Her involvement in the efforts has raised ethical questions over her husband\u2019s role in deciding cases related to the election and Jan. 6.
