No such recommendation or announcement has been made by the organization.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The monkeypox virus is currently spreading across the globe and has been identified in at least 26 countries, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/health\/health-news\/monkeypox-virus-may-spreading-undetected-years-europe-rcna31504\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NBC News<\/a>.\u00a0People can contract the virus through direct contact with scabs, bodily fluids or contaminated clothing material, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/poxvirus\/monkeypox\/transmission.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook post appears to feature a June 8 letter signed by WHO Integrated Health Services Director <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DrRudiEggers?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rudi Eggers<\/a>, calling for a \u201ctemporary ban in import\/export of garments and items of clothing\u201d outside of Europe, the U.S. and Asia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe recommend that all donated and relief distribution clothing items sourced from this location within the last 72 hours be destroyed to avoid possibility of transmission,\u201d the letter concludes. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/05\/25\/fact-check-did-ctv-news-publish-this-article\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did CTV News Publish This Article Claiming 95 Percent Of Monkeypox Cases In Canada Are Actually Shingles?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The letter is inauthentic.
