Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, then told the Daily Caller that she \u201ccan\u2019t wait to clear up misconceptions\u201d and looks \u201cforward to talking to\u201d the committee. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/16\/ginni-thomas-talk-testify-january-6-committee-clear-up-thompson-eastman\/\">(RELATED:\u00a0EXCLUSIVE: Ginni Thomas Says She Looks \u2018Forward To Talking To\u2019 January 6 Committee, Wants To \u2018Clear Up Misconceptions\u2019)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Ginni Thomas tells me: \u201cI can\u2019t wait to clear up misconceptions. I look forward to talking to them.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/PTdyfsTEge\">https:\/\/t.co\/PTdyfsTEge<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Shelby Talcott (@ShelbyTalcott) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ShelbyTalcott\/status\/1537484843268841475?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 16, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe have discovered in those Eastman [emails] some information that refers to Ginni Thomas,\u201d Committee Chair Bennie Thompson, a Democrat from Mississippi, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/06\/16\/ginni-thomas-jan-6-panel\">told<\/a> Axios.<\/p>\n<p>Soon after, Eastman\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/johneastman.substack.com\/p\/omg-mrs-thomas-asked-me-to-give-an?showWelcome=true&#038;s=r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">published<\/a>\u00a0on Substack addressing the latest news. He wrote that he did not speak with Thomas or her husband about \u201cany matters pending or likely to come before the Court\u201d and suggested that an\u00a0emailed statement he \u201creportedly made\u201d about the Supreme Court was separate from his communications with Thomas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have never engaged in such discussions, would not engage in such discussions, and did not do so in December 2020 or anytime else,\u201d Eastman wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Eastman also published a single email in which Thomas asked him \u201cto give an update about election litigation to a group she met with periodically.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The email, purportedly sent by Thomas to Eastman, reads:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Hope you are back to health \u2013 I heard John had COVID and yet I heard John interviewed lately by Larry O\u2019Connor \u2013 YAY! You are doing an unbelievably great job at clarifying the situation!<\/p>\n<p>1. Could you present a status update to a group of grassroots state leaders on Tuesday, Dec 8th at 3:00 ET to a gathering call Frontliners that [redacted] helps me with (I am on sabbatical until this election stuff is resolved\u2026so she is managing much of the agenda and meeting for us).<\/p>\n<p>2. Is your mailing address for Christmas cards still in [redacted] or have you moved?<\/p>\n<p>Many thanks! And God\u2019s blessings on you all!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The email has not been independently verified by the Daily Caller. Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney\u2019s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Caller regarding whether the committee has more than one email between Thomas and Eastman.
