The incident occurred in September after thousands of mostly Haitian migrants crossed the Rio Grande River and camped under the Del Rio International Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese Border Patrol agents have already been legally cleared from any wrongdoing,\u201d Abbott <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GregAbbott_TX\/status\/1537464227794931713\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tweeted<\/a> on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s outrageous Biden continues to attack the Border Patrol who are trying their best to secure our border. I offer any of them a job to help Texas secure the border,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes after the New York Post\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/04\/14\/border-patrol-agent-whip-probe-is-a-500-page-report-union\/\">reported<\/a> in April that the agents had been cleared of criminal wrongdoing, but were still under an administrative review, The Daily Wire previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-admin-to-discipline-border-patrol-agents-who-were-cleared-of-wrongdoing-in-whipping-incident\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe [Department of Homeland Security\u2019s] Office of the Inspector General, they had first crack at it,\u201d Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, told the newspaper. \u201cThey determined there was no criminal activity that was done so they closed out their investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As The Daily Wire previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/photographer-who-took-horseback-border-patrol-photos-ive-never-seen-them-whip-anyone\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>, some journalists claimed the photos showed Border Patrol agents were \u201cwhipping\u201d migrants, but the photos actually show split reins, not whips.<\/p>\n<p>Split reins are used to direct the horse and hang loosely down the horse\u2019s shoulders. When a horse makes a sudden movement, those strips of leather will naturally flow outward, which is what was depicted in the images. In no picture was a Border Patrol agent holding a whip or even holding the reins in a whip-like fashion.<\/p>\n<p>The photographer whose photos of the agents went viral late last year said in an interview that he never saw the agents whip anyone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve never seen them whip anyone,\u201d photographer Paul Ratje\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/photographer-who-took-horseback-border-patrol-photos-ive-never-seen-them-whip-anyone\">said<\/a>. \u201cHe was swinging it, but it can be misconstrued when you\u2019re looking at the picture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fox News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/dhs-punish-border-patrol-agents-haitian-whipping-incident\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> that ABC, CBS, and NBC all pushed the debunked claim that Border Patrol agents were whipping Haitian migrants, but didn\u2019t inform viewers that the claim had been discredited.
