Lauren Boebert<\/a> (R-CO), is taking legal action against a Democrat political action committee after they pushed unsubstantiated claims that she had previously worked as an &#8220;unlicensed, paid escort.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/livelollola\/status\/1536806259575468041\/photo\/1\">allegations<\/a> were published by American Muckrakers on Tuesday, and immediately went viral across social media. Not long after, Boebert&#8217;s attorney Jonathan Anderson sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/lauren-boebert-legal-action-dem-pac-false-disgusting-claims-paid-escort\">letter<\/a> to the PAC informing them of the legal repercussions they would soon face.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\"><\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>&#8220;We have irrefutable evidence that each one of these statements is patently false. You knew this though,&#8221; the letter reads. &#8220;Muckrakers published these outlandish statements knowing they were fabricated but you likely operated under the inaccurate assumption that publishing false statements against a public figure would not create legal liability.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>&#8220;This will be a costly miscalculation for Muckrakers, Wheeler and Muckrakers&#8217; donors.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>Anderson noted that in addition to defamation claims, Muckrakers is also criminally liable, since Colorado law &#8220;expressly prohibits the circulation of &#8216;knowingly or recklessly&#8217; false information meant to influence an election.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<figure class=\"kg-card kg-embed-card\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Fact Check: Not true. <br \/>Fake News. Four Pinocchios.<\/p>\n<p>Also\u2026<br \/>Y\u2019all need Jesus!<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Lauren Boebert (@laurenboebert) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/laurenboebert\/status\/1536904363523850241?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 15, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>Boebert called the allegations &#8220;Fake News,&#8221; and later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/lauren-boebert-legal-action-dem-pac-false-disgusting-claims-paid-escort\">described<\/a> them to FOX News as &#8220;blatantly false and disgusting.&#8221; <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>The American Muckrakers PAC, co-founded by former Democratic North Carolina state Senate candidate David Wheeler, has attempted to smear numerous Republicans, most notably <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/rep-madison-cawthorn-concedes-republican-primary-to-challenger-chuck-edwards\">Madison Cawthorn<\/a>, whose re-election campaign they helped derail via a series of leaked videos.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>In their attack on Boebert, they alleged that she had been an &#8220;unlicensed, paid escort&#8221; and received two abortions. They also claimed that she met Sen. Ted Cruz during that time, and that he urged her to run for office.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>The claims were spread far and wide across Twitter, with many prominent left-wing accounts jumping on the opportunity to slam Boebert. They all prefaced their tweets, however, with some variation of &#8220;if this is true&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>Notable far-left page Occupy Democrats shared the allegations, and urged followers to retweet if they thought it souded true.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-f313b7e6=\"\">\n<p>Not everybody on the left was fooled.
