A chase ensued, but the deputy decided to pull back. Carmichael, along with a female passenger, were later found after he crashed his car down an embankment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSheriff\u2019s personnel pulled the suspect out of the car and extinguished a small brush fire sparked by the wreck,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsandiego.com\/news\/local\/man-accused-of-impersonating-deputy-in-fallbrook-now-suspected-of-dozen-fake-traffic-stops\/2972427\/\">NBC7 San Diego<\/a>. Detectives determined the female with Carmichael was not involved with his alleged illegal impersonation.<\/p>\n<p>The Union-Tribune also noted that investigators found \u201ctwo replica firearms, brass knuckles, a baton, a fake badge that read \u2018special police\u2019 and several other patches that said \u2018security\u2019 and \u2018SWAT.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Officials said Carmichael put red and blue strobe lights across the top of the windshield of a silver 2009 Toyota Camry he was driving.
