The original image does not mention Biden and lists regular gas prices.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The national average for the price of gasoline has recently eclipsed $5 per gallon, setting a new all-time high, according to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/national-average-hits-new-all-time-high-at-5-per-gallon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">American Automobile Association (AAA)<\/a>. Several factors including Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine, a decline in domestic oil-to-gasoline production and the summer increase in traffic are leading to higher prices, <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/why-are-gas-prices-rising-541819ca1aa4d3dc0a0206271f9f8589\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Associated Press<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook image, shared over 680 times, appears to show a Mobil gas station sign that reads, \u201cFuck Joe Biden.\u201d A message board at the bottom of the sign reads, \u201cbring back Trump.\u201d In December 2020, Trump\u2019s last full month in office, gas prices averaged $2.19, according to a chart provided by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eia.gov\/dnav\/pet\/hist\/LeafHandler.ashx?n=pet&#038;s=emm_epmr_pte_nus_dpg&#038;f=m\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Energy Information Administration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The image is digitally altered. A reverse image search revealed the photo was originally taken in West Hollywood in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gettyimages.com\/detail\/news-photo\/west-hollywood-ca-tuesday-march-8-2022-the-mobil-station-at-news-photo\/1239039429?adppopup=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">March 2022<\/a> by Robert Gauthier of the Los Angeles Times and later shared on Getty Images. The photo shows regular gas prices and does not include any political messages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWest Hollywood, CA, Tuesday, March 8, 2022 \u2013 The Mobil station at the corner of La Cienega and Beverly advertise prices higher than the norm throughout the Los Angeles area,\u201d reads the image description.<\/p>\n<p>The current price of gas in California is $6.43 per gallon, making it the state with the most expensive gas in the country, according to a June 15 estimate from <a href=\"https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/?state=CA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/?state%3DCA&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1655303052687000&#038;usg=AOvVaw0PRNBNXu7LIynGM8E9DJwt\">AAA<\/a>.
