Brian Kemp in a <a href=\"https:\/\/surveyresearch-ecu.reportablenews.com\/pr\/georgia-senate-race-tied-kemp-leads-abrams-by-five\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">poll<\/a> from Eastern Carolina University\u2019s Center for Survey Research released Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/31\/stacey-abrams-brian-kemp-election-georgia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Abrams<\/a> was 5 points behind Kemp in the <a href=\"https:\/\/surveyresearch-ecu.reportablenews.com\/pr\/georgia-senate-race-tied-kemp-leads-abrams-by-five\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">poll<\/a>, garnering 45% of the vote compared to Kemp\u2019s 50%. The matchup will be a rematch between the two politicians, as Abrams lost to Kemp in the 2018 gubernatorial race.<\/p>\n<p>She fared worse than incumbent Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock, who tied with Republican Herschel Walker in the state\u2019s Senate race, according to the poll. Both Warnock and Walker garnered 46% of respondents\u2019 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Abrams led Kemp with black respondents, holding an 86% to 9% advantage, but trailed with white respondents, holding a 27% to 70% disadvantage, according to the poll. (Photo by Megan Varner\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Abrams is seen as more likely to lose than Warnock, due to the perception she is more liberal and her weakness with white voters, election analysts <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/04\/raphael-warnock-stacey-abrams-herschel-walker-brian-kemp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">previously told<\/a> The Daily Caller News Foundation<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbrams under-runs Warnock in basically every single one of these suburbs and we see it in every single poll,\u201d Lakshya Jain, an election analyst who writes for Split Ticket, told TheDCNF in May. \u201cIt has to do with the fact that he\u2019s viewed as less extreme by the electorate and less liberal \u2026 and the fact that \u2026 he\u2019s not running against an incumbent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Walker, who easily <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/24\/herschel-walker-wins-georgia-senate-gop-primary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">won the GOP primary<\/a> with an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, is seen as a weaker candidate than Kemp, Jain told TheDCNF in May.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe said a lot of crazy things. He\u2019s basically been Trump\u2019s number one lieutenant and Georgia didn\u2019t even vote for Trump,\u201d Jain said. \u201cHerschel Walker is just a disaster of a candidate and national Republicans have been worrying about this for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The poll surveyed 868 registered Georgia voters between June 6-9 and had a margin of error of 3.9%.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives for Abrams, Kemp, Warnock and Walker did not immediately return TheDCNF\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
