I just can\u2019t. And I\u2019m going to follow the law,\u201d said Holmes, according to the AP.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe post-election canvassing process is a key component of how we maintain our high levels of election integrity in New Mexico, and the Otero County Commission is flaunting that process by appeasing unfounded conspiracy theories and potentially nullifying the votes of every Otero County voter who participated in the primary,\u201d said Toulouse Oliver, the AP reported.<\/p>\n<p>No potential irregularities from the June 7 primary election were brought up in the June 9 meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The three-member <a href=\"https:\/\/www.co.otero.nm.us\/271\/County-Commission\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">commission<\/a> comprises District 1 Commissioner\u00a0Gerald Matherly, District 2 Commissioner Couy Griffin, and District 3 Commissioner\u00a0Vickie Marquardt.<\/p>\n<p>Griffin, a co-founder of Cowboys for Trump, acknowledged that the commission\u2019s refusal to certify the results will likely cause delays in local elections, reported the outlet. Marquardt said she voted not to certify local election races because of her conscience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have huge concerns with these voting machines,\u201d Marquardt said Monday, reported the AP. \u201cWhen I certify stuff that I don\u2019t know is right, I feel like I\u2019m being dishonest because, in my heart, I don\u2019t know if it is right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The county commission voted to approve Griffin\u2019s agenda items June 9, which include completing a recount of the ballots from the state-wide June 7 primary election by hand, removing ballot drop boxes and suspending the use of Dominion voting systems in the November general election.<\/p>\n<p>A Dominion spokesperson denounced the commission\u2019s decision not to certify the primary election results.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is yet another example of how lies about Dominion have damaged our company and diminished the public\u2019s faith in elections,\u201d a Dominion spokesperson told the Daily Caller.<\/p>\n<p>Griffin said at the June 9 meeting that his agenda items were put forward for a vote because the people of Otero County still want election answers. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/20\/mark-zuckerberg-meta-missouri-election-integrity-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED:\u00a0Missouri Bill Would Prevent \u2018Zuckbucks\u2019 From Flooding Local Election Offices)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI put these [agenda items] on here because I feel like that is what the people want. [We], as commissioners, are to be the representation of the will of the people,\u201d said Griffin.<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>The county commission has until June 17 to certify the election results and avoid delays to the state certification of local races.
