Over the same period, the Producer Price Index (PPI) \u2014 which tracks inflation for wholesalers \u2014 increased <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/inflation-for-businesses-continues-at-double-digit-pace\">10.8%<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder my plan for the economy, we\u2019ve made extraordinary progress,\u201d Biden nevertheless <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2022\/06\/14\/remarks-by-president-biden-at-the-29th-afl-cio-quadrennial-constitutional-convention\/\">argued<\/a> at the labor union\u2019s conference. \u201cAnd we put America in a position to tackle the\u2026 worldwide problem that\u2019s worse everywhere but here: inflation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oecd.org\/sdd\/prices-ppp\/consumer-prices-oecd-06-2022.pdf\">data<\/a> from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) shows that the United States <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/pretty-bleak-international-economic-organization-issues-new-warning-about-soaring-inflation-famine\">boasts higher inflation rates<\/a> than many other developed countries. The 8.3% inflation rate seen in the United States as of April was higher than the 7.8% rate in the United Kingdom, the 7.4% rate in Germany, the 6.8% rate in Canada, the 6% rate in Italy, the 4.8% rate in South Korea, and the 2.5% rate in Japan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEnergy prices remained the main contributor to inflation in France, Germany and Italy in April,\u201d the OECD said, \u201cwhile inflation excluding food and energy continued to drive inflation in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The international organization recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oecd.org\/economic-outlook\/\">increased<\/a> its 2022 inflation forecasts for the world\u2019s leading economies, including an upward revision from 4.4% to 5.9% in the United States \u2014 a level exceeding expected rates for Australia, France, South Korea, Norway, Switzerland, and Japan.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the most recent inflation report for the United States, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/president-biden-blames-vladimir-putin-for-record-high-inflation\">again<\/a> pinned the blame on \u201cPutin\u2019s Price Hike\u201d \u2014 a reference to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and its role in hiking global energy costs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHigh gas prices at the pump, energy, and food prices accounted for around half of the monthly price increases, and gas pump prices are up by $2 a gallon in many places since Russian troops began to threaten Ukraine,\u201d Biden said in a statement. \u201cEven as we continue our work to defend freedom in Ukraine, we must do more \u2014 and quickly \u2014 to get prices down here in the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-press-secretary-the-economy-is-in-a-better-place-than-it-has-been-historically\">insisted<\/a> that the United States economy remains robust.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat I\u2019m trying to say to you is that the economy is in a better place than it has been historically,\u201d Jean-Pierre said at a press briefing last week. \u201cAnd so, we feel, here at this administration and other experts as well\u2026 we feel that we are in a good position to take on inflation. We are in a good position to really start really working on lowering prices.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/poll-finds-more-americans-are-pessimistic-about-their-standard-of-living\">recent poll<\/a> by The Wall Street Journal and the University of Chicago\u2019s National Opinion Research Center (NORC), 83% of respondents described the state of the economy \u201cas poor or not so good.\u201d Meanwhile, 35% said they are not \u201csatisfied at all with their financial situation\u201d \u2014 the highest level since the poll started in 1972.<\/p>\n<p>When questioned by a Harvard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/poll-95-of-voters-say-inflation-is-somewhat-or-very-serious\">survey<\/a> about rising price levels, 95% of respondents said that inflation is \u201cvery serious\u201d or \u201csomewhat serious.\u201d A plurality \u2014 47% \u2014 said that the Biden administration is responsible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Joe Biden\u00a0falsely claimed in a Tuesday speech for the AFL-CIO that inflation is hitting the rest of the world worse than in the United States.
