However, given unprovoked attacks by leading Democrats against me &#038; a very cold shoulder to Tesla &#038; SpaceX, I intend to vote Republican in November.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk stated in May that he would vote Republican in the upcoming election despite having \u201cvoted overwhelmingly for Democrats, historically.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLike I\u2019m not sure, I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear,\u201d Musk\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elon-musk-announces-hes-switching-to-vote-republican\">said<\/a>. \u201cNow this election I will.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk said Democrats were controlled by unions, which he said was \u201cjust another form of monopoly,\u201d and class-action lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>Musk later explained why he voted for Democrats in previous elections and why he can no longer support them moving forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party,\u201d Musk tweeted. \u201cBut they have become the party of division &#038; hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican. Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk also took shots at both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump back in May.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven though I think a less divisive candidate would be better in 2024, I still think Trump should be restored to Twitter,\u201d Musk wrote on Twitter, later adding: \u201cBiden\u2019s mistake is that he thinks he was elected to transform the country, but actually everyone just wanted less drama.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk has taken shots at big government in the past, which is the core theme of the Democrat Party. \u201cIt does not make sense to take the job of capital allocation away from people with a demonstrated great skill in capital allocation and give it to an entity that has demonstrated very poor skill in capital allocation,\u201d Musk\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/seven-times-elon-musk-slammed-democrats-left-wing-policies-this-year\">told<\/a>\u00a0The Wall Street Journal. \u201cThink of the government essentially as a corporation in the limit. The government is simply the biggest corporation, with a monopoly on violence and where you have no recourse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk has repeatedly gone after the political Left in recent years for a variety of issues ranging from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/seven-times-elon-musk-slammed-democrats-left-wing-policies-this-year\">policy<\/a>\u00a0to wokeness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Wokeness] is a prevalent mind virus, and arguably one of the biggest threats to modern civilization,\u201d Musk said late last year. \u201cAt its heart, wokeness is divisive, exclusionary, and hateful.
