Kathy Hochul signed a bill that creates a task force to investigate crisis pregnancy centers, one of six new abortion laws authorized Monday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nyassembly.gov\/leg\/?default_fld=%0D%0A&#038;leg_video=&#038;bn=S.470&#038;term=2021&#038;Summary=Y&#038;Text=Y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bill S.470<\/a>, the Limited Services Pregnancy Center Act, establishes a task force to conduct a study on \u201cthe unmet health and resource needs facing pregnant women in New York and the impact of limited service pregnancy centers on the ability of women to obtain accurate, non-coercive health care information and timely access to a comprehensive range of reproductive and sexual health care services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReproductive rights are human rights, and today we are signing landmark legislation to further protect them and all who wish to access them in New York State,\u201d Hochul said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.governor.ny.gov\/news\/governor-hochul-signs-nation-leading-legislative-package-protect-abortion-and-reproductive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a> Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The bill includes provisions for the commissioner of the task force to request patient data and funding information from crisis pregnancy centers, what the bill refers to as \u201climited service pregnancy centers.\u201d The task force also looks at whether the center under investigation is affiliated with a state-wide network of crisis pregnancy care centers.<\/p>\n<p>Among those required to have a seat on the task force include a licensed medical professional whose practice involves all forms of reproductive healthcare and procedures \u201cincluding the birth and termination of pregnancy,\u201d according to the bill. It also mandates representation from professional activists in the fields of reproductive rights, reproductive health and\/or reproductive justice, as well as a member of New York\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/ag.ny.gov\/bureaus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bureau of Social Justice<\/a> in the attorney general\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>New York state Sen. Brad Holyman, who co-sponsored S.470, said the study will report on \u201cunlicensed, often misleading facilities that offer pregnancy-related services but don\u2019t provide or refer for comprehensive reproductive healthcare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese centers are often more interested in pushing their own agenda than doing what\u2019s best for their patient\u2019s health, and they waste precious time for pregnant people who may consider abortion,\u201d he said. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/07\/17\/crisis-pregnancy-center-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>(RELATED: Former Planned Parenthood President Said Crisis Pregnancy Centers Misinform, Shame And Deter. Wade, handing authority to legalize or criminalize abortion over to states, according to the governor\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe women of New York will never be subjected to government mandated pregnancies, because that\u2019s what will ensue if Roe v.
