John Cornyn of Texas, one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/09\/john-cornyn-rules-out-gun-age\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lead negotiators<\/a>, told Punchbowl.<\/p>\n<p>Cornyn told the outlet that the 10 Republican senators who <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/12\/bipartisan-consensus-gun-laws-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">agreed to the framework<\/a> continue to have \u201crock solid\u201d support for the compromise. Maintaining the backing of each Republican is crucial to getting the 60 votes needed to clear the legislative filibuster in the evenly divided Senate.<\/p>\n<p>Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Dick Durbin told Punchbowl that Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut has been provided access to his staff to move the process along. Durbin said figuring out the text of the bill from the agreed framework \u201cis not an easy task,\u201d but qualified that much of the package is already in existing bills.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd so it\u2019s just a matter of modifying them to whatever the agreement required,\u201d Durbin said. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/25\/joe-manchin-wont-support-eliminating-filibuster-pass-gun-control\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Manchin Resists Calls To Scrap Filibuster To Push Through Gun Control, Says He\u2019s Open To Reform)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7450305\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7450305\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">U.S. Sen. (Photo by Jordan Vonderhaar\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>None of the 10 Republicans who signed on to support the framework are up for reelection this year, Axios <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/06\/12\/senate-gun-deal-legislation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>. Multiple Republican senators who are not a part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/26\/mitch-mcconnell-red-flag-laws-bipartisan-negotiations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bipartisan negotiations<\/a>, however, told the outlet they did not yet support the bill but were open to it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think everyone kind of understood generally\u201d what\u2019s in the bill \u201cbut I don\u2019t know specifically. \u2026 I just think we need to find what\u2019s acceptable to move forward,\u201d Republican Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa told Punchbowl.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI look forward to seeing the legislative language. It\u2019s something in terms of the categories addressed, it strikes me as the right approach,\u201d Republican Sen.
