Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/em> last month, Americans have waited with bated breath for the high court to issue its verdict on the constitutionality of the 1973 <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> decision, which federally legalized abortion in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Despite high expectations that the court would release its final <em>Dobbs<\/em> opinion\u2014which is expected to deem <em>Roe<\/em> unconstitutional\u2014on Monday SCOTUS instead issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/slipopinion\/21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">series of less contentious opinions<\/a>, once again leaving millions of Americans in limbo. The high court is set to release more legal opinions on Wednesday, with notable cases pertaining to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scotusblog.com\/2021\/04\/court-to-take-up-major-gun-rights-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gun rights<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/supreme-court-school-choice-david-mcintosh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">school choice<\/a>, and the regulatory power of the <a href=\"https:\/\/pjmedia.com\/news-and-politics\/victoria-taft\/2022\/03\/01\/how-big-is-this-scotus-case-about-epas-svengali-like-powers-huge-n1562440\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Environmental Protection Agency<\/a> also awaiting publication.<\/p>\n<p>While the leaked <em>Dobbs<\/em> majority draft opinion striking down federally legalized abortion has generated enthusiasm from pro-life activists, the prospect of SCOTUS overturning <em>Roe<\/em> has pushed an already unhinged left to the breaking point. Since the draft\u2019s publication in Politico, leftists have repeatedly shown up in droves at the homes of the Republican-appointed members of the court in order to harass and intimidate the justices into keeping <em>Roe<\/em> in place.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the left-wing activist group Shut Down D.C. organized a <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/05\/10\/abortion-rights-activists-hold-protest-outside-of-justice-samuel-alitos-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">demonstration<\/a> outside of Justice Samuel Alito\u2019s Virginia home \u201cbecause it\u2019s been impossible to reach him at the Supreme Court,\u201d with participants shouting phrases such as \u201cour bodies, our voice!\u201d and \u201cAlito is a coward.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/justice-barrett-mom-5-doesnt-know-full-term-pregnancy-handmaid-protester\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Threatening demonstrations<\/a> have also taken place at the Virginia home of Justice Amy Coney Barrett, with the radical pro-abortion group Ruth Sent Us recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/news\/amy-coney-barrett-ruth-sent-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">encouraging<\/a> its supporters to target Barrett\u2019s home, children, and church.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re in the DC metro area, join us. Our protests at Barrett\u2019s home moved the needle to this coverage,\u201d the group said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RuthSentUs\/status\/1534530178298150913?s=20&#038;t=XNef8UOtleChqeV1BWLHWg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tweet<\/a>. \u201cFalls Church is a People of Praise stronghold. She sends her seven kids to a People of Praise school that she sat on the Board of Directors for. She attends church DAILY.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While possessing the power to arrest and charge demonstrators, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, who himself was once a SCOTUS nominee, has instead chosen not to prosecute violators of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/18\/1507\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">18 U.S. Code \u00a7 1507<\/a>, which outlaws picketing outside a judge\u2019s home \u201cwith the intent of interfering with, obstructing, or impeding the administration of justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The most heinous of the left\u2019s intimidation tactics, however, came last week when a deranged leftist was arrested outside the home of Justice Brett Kavanaugh for planning to assassinate the judge for his purported support of overturning <em>Roe<\/em>. In addition to being <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/york-times-buries-kavanaugh-assassination-143847854.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">buried<\/a> by the New York Times, the story <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/kavanaugh-assassination-attempt-ignored-sunday-shows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">received no coverage<\/a> by any of the major Sunday news shows on ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN.<\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden has also neglected to directly acknowledge the attempt on Kavanaugh\u2019s life, with the only response from the White House being a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/biden-condemns-actions-armed-man-arrested-near-kavanaughs-home-supports-increased-security-justices\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a> from Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates that said Biden \u201ccondemns the actions of this individual in the strongest terms.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>John Roberts Has Failed His Fellow Justices <\/h2>\n<p>After the <em>Dobbs<\/em> draft opinion was released, Chief Justice John Roberts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/inside-job-roberts-launches-hunt-for-scotus-leaker-of-roe-reversal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> the launch of an investigation to find the individual who leaked the majority opinion to Politico. Not only has Roberts\u2019 investigation cataclysmically failed to out the leaker and hold this person accountable for his or her actions a month later, the chief justice\u2019s continued withholding of the <em>Dobbs<\/em> decision has concurrently endangered the lives of his colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>As noted by Federalist CEO Sean Davis, Roberts \u201ccould issue Dobbs today and eliminate threats of violence to prevent its release,\u201d but is instead \u201cdeliberately doing nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat conclusions can be drawn other than that Roberts is fine with what the leak has wrought, and that he\u2019s fine with the prospect of violence and assassinations precluding the release of a Dobbs release overturning Roe v. Wade?,\u201d Davis <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/seanmdav\/status\/1536359878721159168?s=20&#038;t=QpjIwrdOHbbAh8WXmusrjg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/05\/11\/john-roberts-should-quit-playing-politician-and-follow-the-constitution-in-dobbs-decision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">prior reporting<\/a>, Roberts plans to oppose the overturning of <em>Roe<\/em> alongside the court\u2019s Democrat appointees, with the chief justice allegedly attempting to sway Justices Barrett and Kavanaugh to join him.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than releasing the <em>Dobbs <\/em>opinion as soon as possible, Roberts appears to be withholding the decision until the end of the court\u2019s term, which would mean the ultimate fate of <em>Roe<\/em> wouldn\u2019t be publicly known until late June or early July. If this is the case, such irresponsible and feckless decision-making indicates that Roberts is seemingly fine with the ongoing threats against his colleagues, some of whom (like Barrett and Kavanaugh) are parents of young children.<\/p>\n<p>Just as his <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/05\/03\/john-roberts-cowardice-on-obamacare-is-why-the-left-thinks-it-can-bully-and-extort-scotus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">caving to public pressure<\/a> on the court\u2019s 2012 Obamacare case gave Democrats license to harass and bully SCOTUS, Roberts\u2019 refusal to issue the <em>Dobbs<\/em> decision has opened the floodgates for a bevy of continued threats and acts of violence against sitting members of the court from left-wing anarchists until the opinion is released.
