There is no evidence that Tesla or CEO Elon Musk has launched a cryptocurrency platform.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Economists are warning the U.S. is likely to experience a recession in 2023, caused by a cooling off of the job market and high inflation, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/53fcbbf1-39e3-483c-a6f2-b0de432ed5a3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Financial Times<\/a>. Fears of a recession and increased inflation have caused cryptocurrency markets to crash, with Bitcoin now trading below $27,000, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/cryptocurrency-selloff-extends-through-the-weekend-after-fridays-hot-inflation-reading-11655039108\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MarketWatch<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>A series of images shared on Facebook claim Tesla recently announced a new cyrptocurrency platform called \u201cBitcode Prime.\u201d One such image shows what appears to be a BBC News artitle titiled, \u201cSPECIAL REPORT: Tesla launches its newest platform Bitcode Prime- aims to help families become wealthier.\u201d Other posts appear to show the same story being shared by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=1062641231347985&#038;set=a.115882846023833\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NZ Herald<\/a> and The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/chanatalks\/posts\/pfbid09pwSyonNSf2ZZAjXLUbfa76p7moAunhDE7sngzVQcjQchyBq2SYYuNz2U9xxRzadl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDue to the financial crisis around the world, Tesla has launched a new project promising to help families become wealthier,\u201d the sub-headline of the article reads. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/05\/13\/fact-check-china-cryptocurrency-forbes-article\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Forbes Publish This Article About China\u2019s New Cryptocurrency?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The articles are digitally edited.
