It is not illegal to be registered to vote in multiple states.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A recent recount found Oz won the Republican Senate primary by 951 votes against Dave McCormick and will face Pennsylvania Lieutenant Gov. John Fetterman in November\u2019s general election, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/06\/08\/politics\/recount-pennsylvania-senate-gop-primary-oz-mccormick\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a>. An image shared on Facebook shows a screenshot of a tweet that claims Oz is not registered to vote in Pennsylvania. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/04\/05\/fact-check-kamala-harris-gas-price-quote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Kamala Harris Say, \u2018Gas Prices Are High Due To Gas Prices Not Being Low\u2019?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBREAKING: Dr. Oz, the MAGA snake-oil candidate for Senate in Pennsylvania, is humiliated as it\u2019s exposed that he\u2019s actually registered to vote in New Jersey rather than PA and has been since the 1980s!\u201d reads part of the screenshot.<\/p>\n<p>This claim is misleading. Check Your Fact found Oz\u2019s Pennsylvania voter registration, which shows that he is indeed registered to vote in Montgomery County. The Philadelphia Inquirer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/politics\/pennsylvania\/does-dr-oz-live-in-pennsylvania-20211202.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a> Oz registered to vote in Pennsylvania in 2020 after living in New Jersey for decades and is using his parents-in-law\u2019s residence. It also appears that he is still registered to vote in New Jersey, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/06\/09\/politics\/fact-check-oz-registered-to-vote-pennsylvania\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr. Oz is a registered and active Pennsylvania voter, having just voted in the Pennsylvania primaries on May 17 and the other elections here since he moved back home,\u201d Oz campaign representative Brittany Yannick told Check Your Fact in a statement. \u201cHe was previously registered in New Jersey, but the voter rolls have not been scrubbed to accurately reflect his change in status.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is not illegal to be registered to vote in two different states, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wusa9.com\/article\/news\/verify\/can-i-be-registered-to-vote-in-more-than-one-state-verify-yes-but-you-can-only-vote-in-one-state\/65-4dda7684-e46e-4612-a392-53443a261008\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WUSA 9<\/a>. People are often registered to vote in different states because they move and do not inform authorities of said move, leaving them on the voter rolls, the outlet reported.
