Garland&#8217;s DOJ, meanwhile, has yet to bring any charges against protesters targeting the justices&#8217; homes, even after the alleged assassination attempt against Justice Brett Kavanaugh.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ&#8217;s hands-off approach has left critics baffled.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/scotus-kavanaugh-suspect-charged-gop-slam-house-democrats%5C\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>GOP SLAM HOUSE DEMS FOR STALLING SCOTUS PROTECTION BILL AFTER SUSPECT CHARGED WITH TRYING TO KILL KAVANAUGH<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"image-ct inline\">\n<div class=\"m\"><source media=\"(max-width: 767px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 767px) and (max-width: 1023px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1024px) and (max-width: 1279px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1280px)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a57.foxnews.com\/static.foxnews.com\/foxnews.com\/content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/640\/320\/BK-V1.png?ve=1&#038;tl=1\" alt=\"Protestors and drummers marched outside of Kavanaugh&#039;s house after an alleged assassination attempt.\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"caption\">\n<p>\n      Protestors and drummers marched outside of Kavanaugh&#8217;s house after an alleged assassination attempt.<br \/>\n      <span class=\"copyright\">(Fox News)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Former Trump administration <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/person\/william-barr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Attorney General Bill Barr<\/a> told Fox News Digital that the &#8220;law is crystal clear&#8221; and that &#8220;protests at a judge\u2019s residence to influence a judge is a federal crime, and the law should be enforced.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Administration\u2019s talking point that it supports the First Amendment is a non-answer,&#8221; Barr said in an email. &#8220;The right to protest has always been subject to reasonable \u2018time, place, and manner\u2019 restrictions, like the federal law prohibiting demonstrations outside a judge\u2019s residence.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"image-ct inline\">\n<div class=\"m\"><source media=\"(max-width: 767px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 767px) and (max-width: 1023px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1024px) and (max-width: 1279px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1280px)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a57.foxnews.com\/static.foxnews.com\/foxnews.com\/content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/640\/320\/a0c47942-barr-NEWSLETTER-xx.jpg?ve=1&#038;tl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;Demonstrations in violation of the statute are not legitimate First Amendment activity,&#8221; he continued.<\/p>\n<p>Conservative legal group Judicial Crisis Network concurred with the former attorney general, telling Fox News Digital that the protests are illegal and that picketing outside of justices\u2019 residents can potentially affect the impartiality of the court.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The relevant federal statute prohibits pickets and parades in front of a judge&#8217;s home, including for the purpose of influencing a judge,&#8221; Judicial Crisis Network executive director Carrie Severino told Fox News Digital. &#8220;I would love to know why Merrick Garland is refusing to enforce this law as protesters continue to gather at the justices&#8217; private residences \u2013 especially after the apparent attempted assassination of Justice Kavanaugh.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ&#8217;s response to the protests at justices&#8217; homes has drawn attention on Capitol Hill as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sen. On the same day, left-wing street militias announced publicly they would picket his residence and the homes of other conservative justices,&#8221; Cotton told Fox News Digital. &#8220;This act of intimidation is a clear violation of federal law and Merrick Garland has done nothing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/ruth-sent-us-targeting-supreme-court-barrett-church\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>\u2018RUTH SENT US\u2019 GROUP HINTED AT TARGETING SUPREME COURT JUSTICE BARRETT\u2019S CHILDREN, CHURCH<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;His primary job is to enforce the law, and he has failed totally,&#8221; the Republican senator continued. &#8220;If he won\u2019t resign, then we\u2019ll impeach him once Republicans control the Congress in January.
