The frightened animal then raced around the lobby \u2014 apparently looking for a way out \u2014 slipping and skidding several times as it tried to navigate the bank\u2019s slick tile floor.<\/p>\n<p>Officers on the scene tried to help steer the deer toward a safe exit, but the animal was so scared by that point that it <a href=\"https:\/\/fox2now.com\/news\/missouri\/deer-crashes-through-two-windows-of-downtown-st-louis-bank\/\">left the bank<\/a> the same way it had come in \u2014 smashing through a second window in the process.<\/p>\n<p>Animal rescue services did not arrive until after the deer had made its way out of the building and away from the immediate area. According t0 local reporting, no humans were hurt when the incident occurred. The condition of the deer is unknown.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kmov.com\/2022\/06\/09\/watch-deer-bursts-through-window-downtown-st-louis-bank\/\">KMOV reporters<\/a> spoke to a someone from the Missouri Department of Conservation, who explained that deer often find their ways into strange places \u2014 particularly in the fall, during mating season. They said that the deer that crashed into the bank Thursday was more likely a yearling that had simply gotten lost.<\/p>\n<p>Offbeat local news outlet The Riverfront Times took a different tone in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riverfronttimes.com\/news\/hapless-deer-attempts-st-louis-bank-heist-fails-miserably-37877893\">reporting the incident<\/a>, framing it as a \u201cpoorly executed\u201d bank heist.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccording to a representative from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officials received a 911 call about the incident just before 5:45 a.m. Police then contacted Wildlife Rescue, who are better-equipped to handle shoddy bank heists poorly executed by woodland creatures.
