I\u2019ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery,\u201d Keith shared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax,\u201d he added. \u201cI am looking forward to spending this time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can\u2019t wait.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"und\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/TeADP7UN8h\">pic.twitter.com\/TeADP7UN8h<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Toby Keith (@tobykeith) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tobykeith\/status\/1536037747021996036?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 12, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Many fans and supporters were quick to express support for Keith following his announcement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSending love and support,\u201d the Academy of Country Music <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ACMawards\/status\/1536051045247352832\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">replied<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWishing you much strength and healing my friend!\u201d ESPN anchor Hannah Storm <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HannahStormESPN\/status\/1536039059008757760\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shared<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Keith\u2019s post was followed by an announcement that his July 28 show at the Ohio State Fair has been canceled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur hearts go out to Toby Keith as he courageously battles cancer,\u201d the Ohio State Fair\u2019s Twitter account <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OhioStateFair\/status\/1536039798271516679\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted<\/a> on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The country music star had recently performed in Florida at the Heroes Honor Festival over Memorial Day weekend at the Daytona International Speedway.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">No better way to spend <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/MemorialDay?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#MemorialDay<\/a> weekend than honoring those we\u2019ve lost while supporting Vietnam veterans at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HeroesHonorFest?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@heroeshonorfest<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OEPAuFzNKt\">pic.twitter.com\/OEPAuFzNKt<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Toby Keith (@tobykeith) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tobykeith\/status\/1531729593803198465?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 31, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Keith\u2019s cancer battle may lead to some concerts being postponed, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/country\/toby-keith-stomach-cancer-diagnosis-1235086160\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to<\/a> a Billboard report.<\/p>\n<p>The Toby Keith Foundation has been a supporter of those facing cancer long before his own diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Toby Keith Foundation has been helping children with cancer since 2006 and has streamlined its efforts around no-cost housing for children with cancer,\u201d according to the foundation\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tobykeithfoundation.org\/toby-keith-foundation\/our-mission\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>. \u201cIn 2014, the foundation opened OK Kids Korral, a cost-free, convenient and comfortable home for pediatric cancer patients receiving treatment at The Children\u2019s Hospital at OU Medical Center, Stephenson Cancer Center and other nearby facilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Keith has been a long-time favorite among country fans.
