During the interview, host Bret Baier pointed out that federal law already contains a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/18\/1507\">provision<\/a> that prohibits demonstrations outside the homes of jurists with intent to obstruct or influence the judicial process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re getting ready for this ruling, and it\u2019s going to be controversial no matter what happens, if it matches the leaked draft opinion or not. There is this law on the books\u2026 should they follow the law, should the Attorney General say, \u2018yes arrest those people before something happens?&#8217;\u201d Baier asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell Bret, I think if the leaked version of the opinion is matched by what would be a remarkable act of judicial activism, conservative judicial activism, there will be understandable anger across the nation. As an elected official, I certainly have had protests outside of my house. Many of us have who serve in Congress or other elected offices. But we need to make sure that all appropriate actions are being taken to ensure the safety of members of our federal judiciary, including Supreme Court justices.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Democrat Senator Chris Coons won\u2019t say if he thinks those illegally protesting outside the homes of Supreme Court justices should be arrested.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs an elected official, I\u2019ve certainly had protests out front of my house.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/3AlTNPuhbS\">pic.twitter.com\/3AlTNPuhbS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1536000460947177476?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 12, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOk, so don\u2019t arrest the protesters based on that title, I got it. That\u2019s what you\u2019re saying,\u201d Baier concluded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBret, let\u2019s be clear,\u201d Coons cut in. \u201cI did not say don\u2019t arrest protesters. I am simply saying all appropriate action should be taken to ensure the safety of Supreme Court justices. I\u2019m not going to say this protester or that protester ought to be arrested. I just think that is a judgment call to be made by law enforcement, not by a Senator on a Sunday show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnderstood, but they haven\u2019t been arrested yet.
