Version: 4.0.47--><p>A judge ruled Friday that the\u00a0U.S. National Labor Relations Board\u2019s case against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/home-depot-responds-after-worksheet-on-white-privilege-and-racism-goes-viral\">Home Depot Inc.<\/a>, concerning Black Lives Matter apparel and messaging should be dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>The NLRB claimed Home Depot violated employees\u2019 rights by restricting BLM messaging on their uniforms.<\/p>\n<p>Administrative law judge Paul Bogas, however, sided with the home improvement retail corporation, stating that there is no \u201cdirect\u201d relationship between BLM activism and the \u201cterms and conditions of employment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>BLM messaging \u201coriginated, and is primarily used, to address the unjustified killings of Black individuals by law enforcement and vigilantes,\u201d Judge Bogas wrote, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-06-10\/home-depot-wins-case-rejecting-right-to-wear-blm-at-work\">according<\/a> to Bloomberg. \u201cTo the extent the message is being used for reasons beyond that, it operates as a political umbrella for societal concerns and relates to the workplace only in the sense that workplaces are part of society.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bogas added that there was not\u00a0\u201can objective, and sufficiently direct, relationship to terms and conditions of employment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The judge\u2019s ruling \u201ccan be appealed to the labor board members based in Washington, among whom Democrats now hold a majority, and from there into federal court,\u201d Bloomberg noted.<\/p>\n<p>Months ago,\u00a0Home Depot <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/03\/23\/home-depot-ripped-for-shaming-employees-over-white-privilege\/\">released<\/a> a statement addressing a controversy on the other side of the political spectrum:\u00a0a hyper-progressive worksheet on \u201cwhite privilege\u201d and \u201cracism\u201d that went viral online.<\/p>\n<p>The company acknowledged that the worksheet is a \u201cresource\u201d in its Canadian division but noted that it\u2019s \u201cnot part of any required programming,\u201d nor was it \u201ccreated or approved by our corporate diversity, equity and inclusion department.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we fully support diversity across our company, this material was not created or approved by our corporate diversity, equity and inclusion department,\u201d Home Depot said in a statement published in March. \u201cThis was a resource in our Canadian division and not part of any required programming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The literature defined \u201cwhite privilege\u201d as \u201c[s]ocietal privileges that benefit white people beyond what is commonly experienced by people of colour under the same social, political and economic circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Billionaire Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus, who retired as chairman in 2002, angered the Left back in 2019, when he said he\u2019d be donating money to then-President Donald Trump\u2019s re-election campaign, triggering a #BoycottHomeDepot hashtag.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s got a businessman\u2019s common sense approach to most things,\u201d Marcus said of Trump. \u201cNow, do I agree with every move that he makes? No, I don\u2019t. But the truth is he has produced more than anybody else. He has.
