A Department of Justice affidavit <a href=\"https:\/\/s3.documentcloud.org\/documents\/22056069\/roskenicholas.pdf\">details<\/a>\u00a0how Roske allegedly traveled to Kavanaugh\u2019s home armed with weapons and burglary tools with the intent to kill the justice and prevent him from ruling on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/second-amendment\">Second Amendment<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/abortion\">abortion<\/a> cases.<\/p>\n<p class=\"zn-body__paragraph speakable\" data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_F068CA58-33A3-95BA-14E1-4A8DCD85F578\" data-act-id=\"paragraph_0\">Audio recordings released by the Montgomery County Police Department and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/06\/09\/politics\/nicholas-john-roske-911-call-audio-brett-kavanaugh\/index.html\">obtained<\/a> by CNN show that in the middle of the night on Wednesday, Roske called 911 twice and told the operator that he had weapons in a bag and was having suicidal thoughts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"zn-body__paragraph speakable\" data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_F068CA58-33A3-95BA-14E1-4A8DCD85F578\" data-act-id=\"paragraph_0\">\u201cI need psychiatric help,\u201d Roske told the operator, the publication reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"zn-body__paragraph speakable\" data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_F068CA58-33A3-95BA-14E1-4A8DCD85F578\" data-act-id=\"paragraph_0\">\u201cThere\u2019s pepper spray,\u201d he reportedly told the operator, who asked if he had other weapons besides the gun he mentioned. \u201cThere is a knife. There are, there is, um, tools. No other firearms. No explosives, nothing like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_F068CA58-33A3-95BA-14E1-4A8DCD85F578\" data-act-id=\"paragraph_0\">The operator then reportedly questioned him: \u201cAnd you said you came from California. Do you know someone down here?\u201d to which he responded:\u00a0\u201cBrett Kavanaugh \u2026 the Supreme Court justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_F068CA58-33A3-95BA-14E1-4A8DCD85F578\" data-act-id=\"paragraph_0\">\u201cOK, and what were you coming to do? Just to hurt yourself and him? Or what was going to happen?\u201d the operator reportedly asked.<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_F068CA58-33A3-95BA-14E1-4A8DCD85F578\" data-act-id=\"paragraph_0\">\u201cCorrect,\u201d Roske answered, according to CNN, before telling the operator that he had figured out Kavanaugh\u2019s address partially from an article that contained a picture of the justice\u2019s home displaying the house and street number.<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_F068CA58-33A3-95BA-14E1-4A8DCD85F578\" data-act-id=\"paragraph_0\">He had taken a taxi to Kavanaugh\u2019s home, he continued, and it \u201cdropped me off at his address.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_F068CA58-33A3-95BA-14E1-4A8DCD85F578\" data-act-id=\"paragraph_0\">\u201cI\u2019m just around the corner from it,\u201d he reportedly told the operator, sharing that he was planning to kill himself as he didn\u2019t think he could \u201cget away with it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_F068CA58-33A3-95BA-14E1-4A8DCD85F578\" data-act-id=\"paragraph_0\">Roske also said that he has been\u00a0\u201chospitalized a lot of times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_F068CA58-33A3-95BA-14E1-4A8DCD85F578\" data-act-id=\"paragraph_0\">The 26-year-old Californian appeared in federal court Wednesday in Greenbelt, Maryland, and agreed to stay in jail, CNN reported.<\/p>\n<p>Asked by District Judge Tim Sullivan if he understood the charges brought against him, Roske said he wasn\u2019t \u201cthinking clearly\u201d and that he was on medication that he had taken that day, but that he understood what was going on, according to the publication.<\/p>\n<p>Roske <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/police-id-armed-man-who-said-he-wanted-to-kill-supreme-court-justice-kavanaugh-report\">told<\/a> authorities that he was upset about the \u201cleak of a recent Supreme Court draft decision regarding the right to abortion as well as the recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas,\u201d indicating that \u201che believed the Justice that he intended to kill would side with Second Amendment decisions that would loosen gun control laws.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRoske stated that he began thinking about how to give his life a purpose and decided that he would kill the Supreme Court Justice after finding the Justice\u2019s Montgomery County address on the Internet,\u201d the affidavit said. \u201cRoske further indicated that he had purchased the Glock pistol and other items for the purpose of breaking into the Justice\u2019s residence and killing the Justice as well as himself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is not immediately clear whether the Kavanaugh family was home when this incident occurred.
