A senior administration official, previewing the announcement to reporters Thursday, billed the declaration as \u201ca regional partnership to address historic migration flows affecting every country in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The official noted that the declaration includes a commitment to more effective border enforcement, describing it as having \u201cfour pillars.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Biden is asking all governments along the migratory route to establish and fortify asylum processing in each of their respective countries while more effectively enforcing their borders, conducting screenings, and removing those individuals who do not qualify for asylum,\u201d the senior administration official said.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt sets forth a framework for a coordinated and predictable way for states to manage migration, and focuses on four main pillars: stability and assistance for communities, legal pathways, humane border management, and coordinated emergency response,\u201d the official added.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7448091\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7448091\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">U.S. President Joe Biden speaks while hosting a dinner at the Getty Villa for leaders and their spouses at the Summit of the Americas, in Los Angeles, California, U.S., June 9, 2022. REUTERS\/Kevin Lamarque<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>With \u201cThe Los Angeles Declaration,\u201d governments are committing to several efforts aimed at aiding the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/17\/department-of-homeland-security-title42-migrants-border-mayorkas-biden\/\">surge of migrants<\/a> the U.S. and other countries have seen under the Biden administration. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/30\/exclusive-my-night-at-the-border-with-operation-lone-star-in-texas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: My Night At The Border With \u2018Operation Lone Star\u2019 In Texas)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Governments will expand temporary worker programs \u2013 described by the administration official as a \u201cwin-win\u201d amid \u201cmassive labor shortages\u201d \u2013 increase support for countries holding a large number of refugees and migrants, combat human smuggling networks and \u201copen, expand and reinforce other legal channels for migration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Within the U.S., Biden will detail how his administration plans to apply the declaration Friday.
