Jim Inhofe.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u201cDrummond has disqualified himself both by his denials and by failing to stand up for conservative values,\u201d said Republican Oklahoma Attorney General John O\u2019Connor. \u201c<\/strong><strong>Oklahomans cannot trust him. Trump supporters and conservatives cannot trust him.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A Republican running for attorney general in Oklahoma has contributed roughly $10,000 to 11 Democratic candidates for state and federal office since 2004, including President Joe Biden, according to records reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Gentner Drummond, a Tulsa attorney and wealthy businessman facing Attorney General John O\u2019Connor in the general election, has a history of financially backing Democrats, Federal Election Commission (FEC) and Oklahoma Ethics Commission records show.<\/p>\n<p>Drummond, who also ran in 2018 for attorney general, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/disbursements\/?data_type=processed&#038;committee_id=C00703975&#038;recipient_name=drummond&#038;two_year_transaction_period=2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">refunded<\/a>\u00a0his $1,000 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/receipts\/individual-contributions\/?committee_id=C00703975&#038;contributor_name=Gentner+Drummond\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">contribution<\/a> to Biden\u2019s presidential campaign in 2020 nine days after it was issued, according to FEC records. FEC records also show Drummond <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/receipts\/individual-contributions\/?+committee_id=C00545640&#038;committee_id=C00545640&#038;committee_id=C00556035&#038;contributor_name=Gentner+Drummond\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">contributed<\/a> $1,000 to candidate Matt Silverstein in his 2014 campaign to unseat Republican Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/receipts\/individual-contributions\/?committee_id=C00509976&#038;contributor_name=Gentner+Drummond\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">and<\/a> $1,450 to candidate John Olson in his 2012 race for Oklahoma\u2019s 1st congressional district.<\/p>\n<p>Drummond <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/receipts\/individual-contributions\/?committee_id=C00309203&#038;committee_id=C00392480&#038;committee_id=C00410829&#038;contributor_name=Gentner+Drummond\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gave<\/a> $2,500 combined to former Democratic Oklahoma Rep. Dan Boren in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010, according to FEC data, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/receipts\/individual-contributions\/?committee_id=C00367391&#038;committee_id=C00391854&#038;contributor_name=Gentner+Drummond\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">and<\/a> $1,000 to former Democratic Oklahoma Rep. Brad Carson in 2004. His contributions to state Democrats, some of which are also from his wife, add up to roughly $3,500, according to state records.<\/p>\n<p>Drummond\u2019s campaign did not respond to TheDCNF\u2019s requests for comment. The candidate claimed in May that his Biden contribution was \u201ca big mix-up,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/tulsaworld.com\/news\/state-and-regional\/govt-and-politics\/oklahoma-ag-candidates-on-the-attack-spotlight-on-refunded-biden-donation-draws-ad-firing-back\/article_e3eebe1a-d2e8-11ec-9f72-3bdb5a05c8f2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tulsa World<\/a> reported, and that his wife made it using their joint credit card, after <a href=\"https:\/\/drummondok.com\/come-on\/\">saying<\/a> he \u201cdid not donate to Biden\u201d and that it was \u201cunauthorized.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>John O\u2019Connor, who has been attorney general since 2021, told TheDCNF Drummond has \u201ccontinued to show his true colors\u201d even though the candidate refunded his registered Biden contribution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDrummond has disqualified himself both by his denials and by failing to stand up for conservative values,\u201d O\u2019Connor said. \u201cOklahomans cannot trust him. Trump supporters and conservatives cannot trust him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Drummond has contributed roughly $41,000 total to political action committees (PAC) and both Democratic and Republican federal candidates since 1999, FEC records show.<\/p>\n<p>Most have been to Republicans, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/receipts\/individual-contributions\/?contributor_name=Gentner+Drummond\">such as<\/a> $5,000 to former President Donald Trump\u2019s Save America political action (PAC) committee in February 2022. He also contributed $2,750 combined to two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/receipts\/individual-contributions\/?committee_id=C00207993&#038;committee_id=C00705616&#038;contributor_name=Gentner+Drummond\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">committees<\/a> for Republican Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe from 2005 to 2020 and $1,000 to a PAC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/receipts\/individual-contributions\/?contributor_name=Gentner+Drummond\">tied<\/a> to Republican Oklahoma Sen. James Lankford in 2021<\/p>\n<p>Still, Drummond\u2019s past contributions to Democratic candidates are \u201cextremely troubling,\u201d Republican state Rep. Justin Humphrey told TheDCNF.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is one of the reasons that I will not vote for him,\u201d said Humphrey. \u201cThat makes a person counterfeit when you donate to both sides. I don\u2019t mean this negatively toward Democrats, there are Democrats that are good people, but Joe Biden ain\u2019t one of them.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7446239\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7446239\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: Oklahoma Ethics Commission.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Roughly three dozen people who are spending money to get Democratic gubernatorial candidate Joy Hofmeister elected are also funding Drummond\u2019s campaign, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocpathink.org\/post\/democratic-boosters-seek-to-influence-gop-attorney-general-race\">according<\/a> to a February report by the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs. This comes after the attorney general candidate and his wife contributed $3,251 to Hofmeister when she ran as a Republican for superintendent of public instruction in 2014, state records show.<\/p>\n<p>Donors that overlap between Hofmeister and Drummond have given $72,000 in combined contributions to the Democrat\u2019s campaign, according to the Council of Public Affairs, and roughly $74,000 to Drummond\u2019s campaign. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/19\/jahana-hayes-still-using-campaign-funds-pay-family-paying-herself-fec-records-reimbursements\/\"><strong>(RELATED: Rep. The Tulsa County GOP, which covers the second most populous county in the state, told TheDCNF it is not taking sides in the attorney general race.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the party chairman, I choose to remain out of the primary process and allow the people to make a decision,\u201d said chair Ronda Vuillemont-Smith.<\/p>\n<p>But Shane Jett, a Republican Oklahoma state senator who served in the House for six years, thinks differently.
