The couple charged $3,500 to $4,000 for her operation, far less than a normal board-certified butt lift\u2019s cost of \u00a0$10,000 to $15,000.<\/p>\n<p>Rajpaul, who hailed from South Africa, \u201cshared a video of herself to social media during one of the operations, which was meant to help her with her work in the adult film industry,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10898259\/Mother-daughter-no-training-arraigned-murder-charges-performing-illegal-butt-lift.html\">The Daily Mail<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese individuals have no medical training,\u201d LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton stated. \u201cThey\u2019re not experienced and they\u2019re putting people\u2019s lives at risk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are very dangerous, unlicensed medical practices that are propagating themselves through social media,\u201d Hamilton had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/news\/local\/two-charged-with-murder-in-illegal-butt-lift-operation\/2694679\/\">said<\/a> at the time of Rajpaul\u2019s death. \u201cWe need these victims to come forward because we need to find out if there are other victims out there that are permanently disfigured or may have passed away as a result of some of these procedures and may have been a victim of a criminal act.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>LAPD Valley Bureau Homicide Detective Bob Dinlocker added that Adame and Gomez would bring supplies to private houses, then disappear if something went awry, leaving the problem to paramedics. He said at the time of Rajpaul\u2019s death, \u201cThe internet is filled with stories where they cut the medical-grade silicon with the stuff you would caulk your windows with,\u201d he says. \u201cIt hits the blood stream, attacks the heart, the brain and the kidneys.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon Dr. AJ Khalil told The Daily Mail that if liquified silicon is injected into the buttocks it would be not only illegal, but also prove fatal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have seen patients like this,\u201d he asserted. \u201cThere are implants that go in the buttocks but they\u2019re solid.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A butt lift procedure entails some risks even if done legally; the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/tests-procedures\/buttock-lift\/about\/pac-20393277\">Mayo Clinic<\/a> lists some potential problems:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fluid accumulation beneath the skin (seroma). <\/strong>Drainage tubes left in place after surgery can help reduce the risk of seroma. Your doctor might also remove fluid after surgery using a needle and syringe.<strong>Poor wound healing. <\/strong>Sometimes areas along the incision line heal poorly or begin to separate. You might be given antibiotics if there is a wound healing problem.Incision scars from a buttock lift are permanent, but they\u2019re typically placed in areas that aren\u2019t easily visible.<strong>Changes in skin sensation. <\/strong>During a buttock lift, the repositioning of your tissues can affect superficial sensory nerves. You\u2019ll likely feel some reduced sensation or numbness.
